Fans of Willamette Speedway were treated to both great racing and great fireworks on Saturday July 6th. The DIRTcar Super Late Models were the headliner for the evening as they would participate in a one-hundred lap main event. Also in action were the IMCA Modifieds and Sportsman.

Coming off the Firecracker 100 triumph on Thursday at the Cottage Grove Speedway Trevor Glaser would look to pick up yet another win at Willamette in 2013. The chauffeur of the Bayer Crop Science/Farmland Tractor Supply/Ground and Water #2 Trak-Star would dominate the field to win his seventh race of the year. Glaser would set a wicked pace lapping all the way up to seventh place.

Monte Bischoff of Medford put his Payroll Specialties/Hoppes Construction #F1 Impressive back into the winner’s circle to become the first repeat winner in the IMCA Modified this season. Bischoff was the winner on Wednesday night when the Sprint Cars passed through town. Bischoff, like on Wednesday, was able to keep all challengers in check and kept his mount in front.

Ron Berry became the most recent winner in the Sportsman ranks as he made a late pass to seize the lead. The Salem native in the Les Schwab Tire Center/Prehn’s Performance Engineering #97 Rayburn would have no issues once seizing the lead and would become the eighth different victor in the divison.

The Willamette Speedway will resume 2013 action on Friday July 12th as the Kart program will be on hand. On Saturday the 13th classes involved will include the IMCA Modifieds participating in a one-hundred lap feature. Also on the card will be DIRTcar Super Late Models, Super Sports, and Street Stocks.

General admission to the Friday Kart race event will be FREE of charge. Pit Passes are $10.00 and Car and Driver fees will be $40.00. The pit gates open up around 4:00 PM and racing is scheduled to begin around 6:45.

Saturday the pit gates will open at 1:00 PM, front gates 3:30 PM, and racing should be getting started around 6:00 PM. Admission prices are Adults $14.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $12.00, Youths (12 and Under) $6.00, Family Pass (Two Adults and Up To Four Youths) $35.00, and Pit Passes are $25.00.
