Kasey Kahne Challenge presented by Sage Fruit Opener Set for Sedalia

Missouri State Fair Speedway hosts the first race on April 20

SEDALIA, Mo. - April 5, 2012 - Steve Kinser enjoys racing at Missouri State Fair Speedway and for good reason.

The "King" of the World of Outlaws has claimed a series-best five victories at the semi-banked, half mile, which hosts the World of Outlaws on Friday, April 20, to kick off the Kasey Kahne Challenge - a four-race series co-promoted by NASCAR star Kasey Kahne and SLS Promotions.

"I enjoy running the half miles," Kinser said. "Anytime we can get on a half mile and run, and we can speed up, that's what I really enjoy doing. To me, that's sort of what it's all about."

Kinser last won at Missouri State Fair Speedway in 2007. He also picked up victories in 1999, 2000, 2003 and 2004.

"The first thing is if the track opens up where you can run the bottom and the top, it's a fun place to run," he said. "You can get a bottom groove and a top groove there. I enjoy running at Sedalia."

Jason Sides held off polesitter Sam Hafertepe Jr. in 2010 to win the last World of Outlaws event at the half mile. Current World of Outlaws points leader Sammy Swindell was third and Donny Schatz finished fourth. Kinser charged from 18th to place ninth.

Danny Lasoski, who hails from nearby Dover, Mo., has claimed three victories with Mark Kinser, Swindell and Schatz each winning twice. Jason Meyers, Tyler Walker, Paul McMahan, Stevie Smith, Rick Ungar, Doug Wolfgang and Rick Ferkel also have wins at Missouri State Fair Speedway.

Craig Dollansky established the track record of 15.676 seconds in 2001.
