PRICE SHOWS THE WAY IN FRONT OF PACKED SKAGIT SPEEDWAY HOUSE

Alger, WA - With a packed house watching on, Robbie Price found Skagit Speedway success on Saturday Night with his first win of the year. With Les Schwab supporting the racing action and fireworks to follow, it was Price, Jeff Westergard and Colin Sims taking home feature wins.

Price and Colton Heath started the main event in row one and after swapping moves and race lines multiple times in the first two laps, Robbie found the forward bite he needed to pull away and establish a strong lead. Heath settled into second and spent most of the race trying to keep Price from ditching him in traffic - Robbie had just finished lapping 11th place when a lap 24 caution bunched the field. Heath had cut Robbie’s lead in half right before the caution came out, but on the ensuing restart, chaos erupted from second on back, as Jesse Schlotfeldt and Jason Solwold had monster restarts that pushed them into podium finishing positions. No one could catch Price who rolled on to win the features ahead of Schlotfeldt and Solwold. Trey Starks set quick time. Heat races were won by Chase Goetz, Garen Linder, Schlotfeldt and Cam Smith.

Jeff Westergard won his first Skagit Aggregates Modifieds main event at Skagit Speedway. Westergard took the lead from Brent Morris on lap 12 and went on to win his first feature of the season at his home track. Alan Grimbly ran second with Ben Gunderson taking third. Grimbly and Gunderson were heat winners along with Austin Smith.

In the Hornet class, Colin Sims held off a strong challenge from Steve Peters to win the A Feature. Peters would try every line he could find, but Sims had the right defensive move for each attempt to stay ahead and win the race. Peters and Brian Michelson rounded out the podium. Michelson was fast time while heat race wins went to Howard Vos and Tazio Andreasson.
