“It was a pretty solid weekend for our team. We had a fast car all week, but the cards just didn’t fall our way to get to Victory Lane,” Sheppard said. “We’re geared up now for a busy weekend with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, and we’ll be looking to seeing a lot of great fans in Kentucky and Ohio.”

Rocket1 Racing and Brandon Sheppard returned to action with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) on Thursday evening at Lernerville Speedway (Sarver, Pa.) as a pair of preliminary events kicked off the Firecracker 100 weekend.

In a stout field of 54 cars, Sheppard stopped the clock fourth-fastest in his group before placing second in his heat. Battling for a $6,000 payday in the 30-lap preliminary feature, Brandon gained four spots to finish fourth.

For another $6,000-to-win A-Main on Friday evening, Brandon grabbed the third-and-final transfer spot in his heat, which positioned him on the seventh row for the feature. Breaking into the Top-10, Sheppard passed four cars in the 30-lapper to place 10th .

With preliminary results placing Sheppard on the front row of his heat race on Saturday afternoon, Brandon outdueled Mike Marlar to pick up a 10-lap victory. Earning the pole for the feature, Brandon ran second for the first half of the race, but slipped to the fourth position after a lap-57 restart, where he would eventually finish. He followed Tim McCreadie, Brandon Overton, and Mike Marlar across the line with Earl Pearson Jr. coming in fifth.

Sheppard continues to reside atop the latest LOLMDS point standings.
