13th-place finish in Firecracker at Lernerville

Chris Ferguson made the trek to Lernerville Speedway (Sarver, Pa.) on Thursday afternoon to kick off the 15th annual Firecracker 100 weekend. Drawing a stout field of 53 World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series entries, Ferguson came one spot short of a transfer position in his heat with a fourth-place finish, sending him into the B-Main. Locking the Top 2 into the preliminary feature, Chris faded back to a ninth-place outing.

For another $6,000-to-win preliminary feature on Friday, Chris grabbed the third-and-final transfer spot in his heat, which positioned him 13th on the starting grid for the A-Main. Improving three spots in the 25-lap affair, Ferguson recorded a 10th-place finish.

With preliminary results determining starting lineups for heat races on Saturday, Ferguson jumped up two spots to register a fourth-place finish. Earning the 16th-starting position for the $30,000-to-win Firecracker 100, Chris passed three cars in the 100-lap affair to finish 13th.
