Mike Benedum attends Firecracker 100 weekend at Lernerville

Mike Benedum traveled to Lernerville Speedway (Sarver, Pa.) on Thursday night piloting his Appalachian Minerals No. 25 Late Model entry for the opening round of the 14th annual Firecracker 100. Drawing 48 World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series entries, Benedum fell one spot short of a transfer position in his heat with a fourth place finish. Needing a second place finish or better in his B-Main to make the $6,000-to-win preliminary feature, Mike logged a sixth place outing.

On Friday evening, Mike posted a 10th place outing in his heat race, transferring him into the B-Main. Sending the Top 3 into the A-Main, Benedum logged a 10th place finish.

With preliminary results setting the grid for heat races on Saturday, Benedum elected to save equipment and scratched from his 10-lap heat.
