Top 10 finish in Firecracker 100 at Lernerville Speedway

Thursday night found Ashton Winger in action at Lernerville Speedway (Sarver, Pa.) competing in a stout field of 48 World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series entries for the 14th annual Firecracker 100 weekend. Coming in third in his heat race, Ashton locked into the 15th-starting position for the $6,000-to-win preliminary feature. On Friday evening for another $6,000-to-win preliminary feature, Winger followed up a 10th place finish in his heat with a fifth place finish in his B-Main. Relying on a provisional into the A-Main, Ashton gained seven spots in the 25-lapper to register a 16th place outing.

With preliminary results determining the starting grid for heat races, Winger edged his way into the $30,000-to-win Firecracker 100 with a third place finish in his heat. Starting in 14th, Ashton Winger improved five spots in the 50-lapper to place ninth.

Ashton remains in ninth in the latest World of Outlaws point standings.
