Action Track Preview- And Then There Were Three

Sarver, PA (August 8, 2019) And then there were three.  Only three chances left to leave it all on the line and make a run to the titles in the 2019 Lernerville season following last Friday's rain canceled event. The Peoples Gas DIRTcar Sprints, Precise Racing Products DIRTcar Late Models, Diehl Automotive DIRTcar Big Block Modifieds and Millerstown Pic-A-Part DIRTcar/RUSH Pro Stocks will all be in action on Friday night. And when they hit the track, every lap will matter as points battles will intense in both heat races and main events.

Flick, Sodeman and Bowser Lead Sprints Into Chase

Its been tight pack at the front of the standings in the Peoples Gas DIRTcar Sprints as the season has progressed and the trio of AJ Flick, Jack Sodeman Jr. and Carl Bowser have been in the mix for the title seemingly all year long.  Flick and Sodeman find themselves separate by 16 points coming into Friday night with Bowser just six points behind Sodeman. Flick comes in with a hot hand having won $12,000 at Port Royal Speedway last Saturday night in his biggest career win to date.

Schaltenbrand Carries Healthy Margin Into Final Stretch

Ken Schaltenbrand has been consistent all season long and that has been a key to his success in the Precise Racing Products Late Models this season. The veteran wheel man has found the podium five times this season including a feature win on May 31. Behind him, Jared Miley finds himself 28 points back which is not insurmountable whatsoever. Schaltenbrand will have to keep up the pressure with more strong performances to keep Miley behind him if he hopes to collect his first career track championship. Behind them, the trio of Kelvin Kohan, Mike Miller and Tyler Dietz find themselves separated by three points as they make a run at the third spot overall.

Four Way Battle In Modifieds May Go To Final Set of Turns

Brian Swartzlander and a pair of Kings as in Rex King Jr and Sr have been fast and consistent all season long for the most part, and are currently locked in a tight battle for supremacy in the Diehl Automotive DIRTcar Big Block Modifieds. And just behind them, Garrett Krummert is easily within striking distance. Swartzlander currently has a 13 point advantage over Rex King Jr. and 15 points over the elder statesman while Krummert finds himself 22 points behind the leader.  If Swartzlander can hold on, it would be his 8th track title in the Modifieds over his Hall of Fame career.

Pro Stocks Give Fans Reasons to Stay as Tight Battle Wages On

In the Millerstown Pic-A-Part Pro Stocks, Corey McPherson holds a seven point advantage over Tyler Dietz and a 14 point lead over third running Joey Zambotti. Ryan Moyer also finds himself in the title mix just 22 points behind the leader heading into Friday night. The races have once again been phenomenal and have provided thrilling finishes week in and week out, providing for a tight points battle that could very well go to the final set of turns.

The Lernerville Kids Club will be in action with a candy necklace making activity and will then lead the crowd in the reciting of our pledge of allegiance. Also there will be the long awaited bike raffle for Kids Club members who have attended previous meetings. Kids Club meets at 6:30 pm under the turn four grandstands and is free for children of all ages.

On Friday night, pits will open at 4 PM with grandstands opening at 5 PM and racing at 7:30 PM. Adult general admission is $15, $12 for seniors, $10 for students ages 11-17 and children 10 and under are free.
