Sarver, PA (July 24, 2019) The Earth will quake and the air will be filled with the sound of ground pounding Modifieds all night long this Friday as the annual Modified Mania night gets underway at The Action Track. The BRP Modified Tour will highlight action on Friday as the area's only Big Block Modified tour makes it's only Lernerville appearance for 2019. They'll be joined by the UMP E-Modifieds, RUSH Sportsman Modifieds and the Elite Modified Series making for two Northeast type Modifieds and two E-Modified divisions for fans to take in.
King Jr. On Top of BRP Standings-Shingledecker Has Been Hot
Coming into action on Friday night, the trio of Rex King Jr., Brian Swartzlander and Jeremiah Shingledecker have had a tight hold on the weekly fields at Lernerville this year. And each one of them has a great chance to take home the $2,000 novelty check at the end of the night. King Jr. currently holds the points lead on the BRP Modified Tour by virtue of three wins and podium finishes elsewhere.
Meanwhile, Swartzlander sits atop the point standings in the Diehl Automotive DIRTcar Big Block Modifieds thus far and is preparing for a stretch run battle to championship night with King Jr. and Rex King Sr. who find themselves 13 and 15 points behind respectively. But the hottest driver coming into Friday night is Shingledecker. The former two time track champion has garnered three feature wins at Lernerville this season including back to back wins on July 12 and 19 and a BRP Modified Tour feature win at Stateline Speedway on June 22.
In UMP Modified action last season, Jonathan and Evan Taylor took one feature win each with Evan taking honors during Modified Mania and Jonathan hoisting the belt buckle at the annual Steel City Stampede. In 2018, Rocky Kugel and Blaze Myers each brought home wins at The Action Track with the RUSH Sportsman Modifieds. This season Chas Wolbert brings a two point advantage over Kole Holden and a six point lead over third p running Chelsie Kriegisch in the weekly series standings. Meanwhile, Steve Dixon and Dennis Lunger each took home a feature win in Elite Modified Series action at Lernerville in 2018.
Pits will open at 4 PM on Friday night with grandstands opening at 5 PM and racing starting at 7:30 PM sharp. Adult general admission is $15, $12 for seniors, $10 for students ages 11-17 and children 10 and under are admitted free.
We look forward to seeing you there.
