Action Track Preview- Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series Invades Friday Night
Sarver, PA (June 26, 2019) This Friday night, The Action Track will play host to the Wingless Sprint Cars of the Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series who take center stage as they entertain fans with their thrilling brand of racing action. The night will feature Sprint Cars of all varieties as a four division show featuring both Winged and Wingless cars grace the clay. The Allegheny Sprint Tour 305 RaceSaver Sprint Cars, RUSH Wingless Sprints and 270cc Micro Sprints will join the party this Friday night completing a lineup that is certain to bring a smile to Sprint fans in the area.
BOSS Regulars Face Stiff Local Competition
Over the course of the BOSS tour's appearances at Lernerville dating back to 2013, the local drivers have more than held their own and then some against the invaders to this point. Defending and three time Peoples Gas DIRTcar Sprint Car champion AJ Flick and 2016 champion Jack Sodeman Jr. have each scored victories with Sodeman taking two wins in 2013 and 2015 while Flick struck for the win in 2017. Flick looked to have the fastest car last year once again but suffered misfortune early allowing Binghamton, New York's Coleman Gulick to run away with the main event win.
Thus far in 2019, Mother Nature has dominated the BOSS schedule as seven dates have already been lost in a rainy season in the Ohio Valley. After three completed events, Dallas Hewitt brings the series points lead into Friday night followed by Matt Westfall, Dustin Ingle, Justin Owen and Michael Fischesser.
Ruhlman Leads RUSH Sprints Into Battle
The weather has not been much kinder to the RUSH Sprint Series in 2019, but they've managed to get four events checkered thus far in weekly action. And defending series champion Chad Ruhlman has managed three wins in those first four races. Brian Woodhull is the current points leader with Zach Morrow lurking seven points behind.
In 2018, Lernerville hosted the six race, "Wednesday Night Lightning" series which say an intense battle between Arnie Kent, Gale Ruth and Zach Morrow who were the cars to beat most nights. Kent emerged victorious to take the title in September. Ruhlman managed three wins at Lernerville in RUSH Sprint Car action in 2018 including the Steel City Stampede championship.
Allegheny Sprint Tour Makes First Action Track Appearance
The 305 RaceSaver Sprints of the Allegheny Sprint Tour will be in action for the first time on Friday night. Currently, Greg Dobrosky leads the way in the point standings followed by Jake Gomola and Vincent Dougherty, in limited action this season. The series made the stop at The Action Track six times in 2019 and saw Roger Irvine, Dobrosky, Chad Hill, Steve Kenawell Jr. and Robbie Bartchy take feature wins. Bartchy was victorious in the last two events of the season which included the feature win at the Steel City Stampede in October.
Also entertaining us on Friday night will be the Western, PA 270 cc Micro Sprints who will bring a good amount of cars and excitement to close out the night on the track. The Micros made two appearances in 2018 as Austin Pasquerelle took the first ever checkered flag for the series on August 31 while Brian Borawiec Jr. came away with the Steel City Stampede title.
Pits will open at 4 PM with grandstands opening at 5 PM and racing starting at 7:30 PM. Adult general admission is $15, $12 for seniors, $10 for students ages 11-17 and children 10 and under are free.
