Jimmy Mars scores $20,000 Working Man Finale
Corey McPherson wins sixth of the season; 30th of career
Sarver, PA (September 3, 2016) Chamber of Commerce weather graced the Action Track again as the Working Man weekend came to a close with a thrilling 75-lap A-Main which saw Jimmy Mars score the $20,000 victory.  Mars may have won anyway, but was in the right place at the right time when leader Josh Richards tried to squeeze inside of Chub Frank entering turn three.  Richards got pinched into the inside berm and ended up with a flat right front, surrendering the lead to Mars.  Morgan Bagley took a few looks inside and outside of Mars after the restart, but could not find a way around the two-time Firecracker 100 Champion.  Sarvers own Michael Norris had a great weekend; finishing second in his preliminary feature Friday night and a top five finish Saturday night after running many laps in the top three.  Jared Miley had a top five run going, but ended up in the turn four wall nose first.

 

Prior to the 75-lap World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series A-Main, the Millerstown Pic-A-Part DIRTcar Sportsman took to the Action Track for an $800-to-win, 25-lap A-Main.  What started out as a hotly contested battled for the lead, turned into another Corey McPherson runaway.  The win was McPherson sixth of the season and the 30th of his Lernerville career; which puts him in sole possession of second all-time behind only All Time Division wins leader Joe Kelley with 51 career victories.
