Champ Off-Road to kick off 2025 season at Lucas Oil Speedway next May for Show-Me Off-Road Shootout
WHEATLAND, Mo. (Aug. 30, 2024) - Big-time Off-Road racing is returning to Lucas Oil Speedway in 2025 with the Show-Me Off-Road Shootout coming next May.
The sun is about to set on the final rounds of the 2024 AMSOIL Championship Off-Road in Crandon, Wis., this Labor Day weekend. Still, series officials have already set their sights on 2025's opening weekend, which includes a trip to the self-proclaimed "Diamond of Dirt Tracks."
Champ Off-Road officials are thrilled to announce that the highly anticipated 2025 season will kick off at the Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri. The three-day event will cover the weekend of May 2-4, 2025, bringing racing back to one of the most popular racetracks in short-course, off-road history.
The Show-Me Off-Road Shoot-Out will mark the series' opening rounds at one of the country's most well-known and highly regarded multi-sport facilities. The Wheatland facility will challenge the world's best short-course drivers as they attempt to tame a demanding track with an over/under jump, nine turns, and a 20-foot tall, 120-foot-long tabletop jump. The track was an annual stop for all off-road competitors, with many racers calling it the best off-road, short-course track ever built.
"The Wheatland track has everything from a long hang time sky jump to a big bowl turn and tight over under infield section. Include the covered grandstands with great infrastructure - let's go!" said an excited Pro 2 driver Adrian Cenni.
Wheatland held its first short course race in 2007, but off-road trucks will return to the facility for the first time since summer 2020. Fans are in for a treat, as they will receive a truly world-class experience. The facility has over 100 RV spots available for the weekend, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable stay for all.
"The Wheatland track is an amazing facility, and we are extremely excited to be able to expand our footprint," said Carl Schubitzke, president of Champ Off-Road. "The facility is first class, and fans and races will be treated to an exceptional experience. We are still busy closing out our 2024 season, but we are beyond pumped to get the 2025 campaign underway."
Additional details regarding the Show-Me Shoot-Out and the 2025 AMSOIL Championship Off-Road schedule will be available this fall.
