Racing set to resume at Lucas Oil Speedway with Off Road, Weekly Racing Series doubleheader on Saturday

WHEATLAND, MO. (Aug. 15, 2022) - With only two events remaining on the Big Adventure RV Weekly Racing Series schedule, Lucas Oil Speedway track championships remain tightly contested in two divisions.

Action resumes on Saturday with Public Safety Appreciation Night at the Races Presented by KOLR, with all police, fire and rescue personnel admitted free with ID. The Hermitage Lumber Late Models will be the featured class with a 25-lap, $1,000-to-win main event.

Larry Ferris of Nevada appears to be on his way to a first Lucas Oil Speedway championship as he is 80 points in front of Jefferson City's Tucker Cox headed into the action. Things are much tighter in two other classes, especially the O'Reilly Auto Parts USRA Stock Cars where Rob White of Lebanon has a narrow five-point lead over his son, Bryan White. Mason Beck of Urbana is just 16 behind the leader.

The Ozark Golf Cars USRA B-Mods finds Kris Jackson of Lebanon continuing pursuit of a seventh track championship. Jackson has five feature wins, but is just 25 points clear of Springfield's Ryan Gillmore as the regular season nears the finish. Gillmore picked up his first feature win of the speedway season in the last program, held on Aug. 6.

Dillon McCowan of Urbana has led the Cedar Creek Beef Jerky USRA Modified standings since the season began. The reigning champ has six feature wins and has a 49-point cushion over Dustin Hodges of Centralia.
