Lucas Oil Speedway seeks donations for annual Kids' Bicycle Night giveaway
WHEATLAND, MO. (June 15, 2022) - One of the biggest nights of the Big Adventure Weekly Racing Series is coming up at Lucas Oil Speedway and it's one that can create lasting memories for youngsters.
The annual Thursday Night Thunder program on June 30 not only will feature great racing and a spectacular fireworks display, but it's also Kids Bicycle Night with the speedway hoping to give away hundreds of bikes to kids ages 5-12.
The youngsters can sign up at intermission for a chance to enter a drawing for the new boys' and girls' bicycles of various sizes. How many bikes will be determined by donations - both of bicycles and of money spent toward purchasing them.
"It's always a special night and one we look forward to, when the kids smile when they receive bicycles that many of them might not otherwise be able to afford," Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Danny Lorton said. "We are asking our drivers, sponsors, fans and friends to help us out by donating bicycles for this big night."

Also this Saturday, proceeds from the 50/50 raffle will go toward the purchase of bicycles for the giveaway.
Youngsters can sign up for the Frog's Signs Junior Fan Club when they arrive at the speedway on June 30 for a chance to win a new bicycle.
Midseason Championships & Kids Power Wheel races this Saturday: Lucas Oil Speedway's Big Adventure RV Weekly Racing Series resumes Saturday night as the Bolivar Herald-Free Press and KIX 105.7-Townsquare Media Present the Midseason Championships. Look for discount admission coupons for grandstand admission in The Bolivar Herald-Free Press.
Round 3 of the Kids' Power Wheel races are scheduled during intermission on the front straightaway. Youngsters ages 3-9 can enter their own battery-powered Power Wheel cars by signing up for the Frogs Jr. Fan Club on the south end of the Midway prior to the races.
One Kids Power Wheel class will be the 6-12 volt cars and another will be for the 24-36 volt class. No power or speed enhancement modifications will be allowed.
Youngsters ages 5-12 also are invited to sign up at the Frogs Jr. Fan Club for flagman Mike Striegel's pit tour, prior to the action. Striegel will take the youngsters on a large golf cart through the pits to meet drivers, see the race cars up close and collect autographs.
Kids can sign up for the Frogs Jr Fan Club on the south end of the Midway prior to 5 p.m. for a chance to go on the pit tour.
Gates open at 4 p.m. Saturday with hot laps set for 6:30 and racing at 7:05.
