USRA Modifieds chase $1,000 to win as Lucas Oil Speedway Big Adventure RV Weekly Racing Series resumes on Saturday

WHEATLAND, MO. (June 15, 2021) - Championship chases in the Big Adventure RV Weekly Racing Series resume on Saturday night at Lucas Oil Speedway as the second half of the regular season gets underway.

As iHeartMedia Presents Round 8 of the Weekly Racing Series, Cedar Creek Beef Jerky USRA Modifieds will headline the action with a 25-lap, $1,000-to-win main event. The Missouri Metal Buildings ULMA Late Models, Ozark Golf Cars USRA B-Mods and O'Reilly Auto Parts USRA Stock Cars also resume points battles.

In addition, Pure Stocks return as a special guest class with a $300-to-win feature. Chris Countryman of Clever won on April 17 in the Pure Stocks' other appearance at the speedway in 2021.

To commemorate Father's Day weekend, all dads in attendance can sign up for a chance to win a reclining chair from Scott's Furniture in Osceola. Sign-up will take place at the Protect the Harvest table on the midway and a drawing to determine the winner will be held during intermission.

Fans also can view the Greater Ozarks Mustang Club, which will display their rides on the midway.

"After a great Midseason Championship program, we're excited to kick off the second half of the Big RV Weekly Racing Series schedule," Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Danny Lorton said. "The Pure Stocks always put on a good show and it'll fun to have them back.

"This also is good chance to bring Dad out to the races. He might even take a recliner home from Scott's Furniture."

In this week's featured class, Dillon McCowan of Urbana begins the second half of the season 46 points in front of Fulton's Ryan Middaugh in the Cedar Creek Beef Jerky USRA Modified division. Last week's feature winner, Chase Domer of Nevada, trails McCowan by 49 points with Hermitage's Jason Pursley 53 behind the leader.

The Missouri Metal Buildings ULMA Late Models find defending track champion Cole Henson of Russellville with a 74-point lead over Appleton City's Johnny Fennewald, who is fresh off his first victory of 2021. Dalton Imhoff of Jamestown and Tucker Cox of Jefferson City are 76 and 78 points behind Henson.

Lebanon's Kris Jackson, a five-time track champion, paces the Ozark Golf Cars USRA B-Mod division by just four points over Springfield's JC Morton after Morton's feature win on Saturday. Andy Bryant of Fort Scott, Kansas, is 34 in back of Jackson with Buffalo's JC Newell 41 behind.

The largest points cushion of any division finds Waynesville's David Hendrix 82 clear of Darren Phillips of Wheatland in the O'Reilly Auto Parts USRA Stock Cars. Scotty Allen of Urbana won last week's feature as a season-high Stock Cars were on hand.

Frogs Jr Fan Club Pit Tour: As is a weekly tradition at Lucas Oil Speedway, young fans arriving early are invited to sign up for the Frogs Jr Fan Club Pit Tour. Kids ages 5-12 can sign up on the midway, behind the main grandstands, before 5 p.m. with eight names drawn for a special pit-area tour at 5:15 with flagman Mike Striegel.

They will get to meet some of the drivers, see the cars up close and attend the drivers' meeting prior to return to the midway. Each of the eight will receive a Frogs Jr Fan Club T-Shirt, checkered flag and a gift bag sponsored by RaceGear Unlimited to put items in they receive from the drivers.

Kids' bicycles sought: Lucas Oil Speedway continues to seek bicycle donations for the annual Frog’s Signs Junior Fan Club “Kids’ Night Bicycle Giveaway” during Casey’s General Stores Thursday Night Thunder, on July 1. Bikes are accepted at the speedway office during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, and on race nights. New bicycles will be accepted, or monetary donations can be dropped off or mailed to the speedway.
