ULMA Late Models chase extra money Saturday as Weekly Racing Series resumes at Lucas Oil Speedway

WHEATLAND, Missouri (May 26, 2020) - Just two weeks into Lucas Oil Speedway's season, it's already a mad scramble for the points lead in the Warsaw Auto Marine & RV ULMA Late Model division.

Kaeden Cornell of Willard holds a one-point lead over Cole Henson, but three others are within 17 points of the top spot as the Big Adventure RV Weekly Racing Series resumes on Saturday. The Late Models will be the featured division with a 25-lap, $1,000-to-win main event courtesy of Hickamo Country Store.

Benne Media presents the program, which also will find the Pitts Homes USRA Modifieds, O'Reilly Auto Parts Street Stocks and Ozark Golf Cars USRA B-Mods in action.

The early Late Model championship race is a tight one after week-one feature winner Cornell finished fourth last week and Henson has finishes of second and third so far. Aaron Marrant is third, just eight points behind, with Larry Ferris trailing by 12 and Johnny Fennewald by 17.

Fennewald, the three-time defending track champion, recovered from a DNF in the season opener with a week two feature win to get back within striking distance in his chase of a fourth straight title.

The most-dominant driver so far has been Stoutland's Derek Brown in the Street Stocks. Brown has won both features, including a last-lap pass for last week's win, and has opened a 26-point lead over reigning champ Toby Ott with Cody Frazon 27 behind.

Robbie Reed of Mexico, Missouri, after a feature win and a fifth-place, paces the USRA Modifieds by just two points over Joe Duvall. In USRA B-Mods, Kris Jackson followed up his opening-week win with a runner-up finish and sits four points in front of Dillon McCowan, the week two feature winner.

Social distancing measures again will be in effect. Families may sit together, but otherwise fans should maintain a 6-foot distance in the grandstands and while in lines for other areas such as concessions, gift shop and go-karts. Drivers are advised to again leave one hauler's space between each other in the pit area.

Fans on the midway also can check out two WR1 Sim Chassis custom built for the speedway and preloaded with iRacing. All fans that play will get a gift certificate for a 3-month subscription to iRacing, valued at a regular price of $33.

A Lucas Oil Speedway driver will come to the midway and set a time to beat. The fan setting the fastest lap time on the WR1 Sim will receive a Lucas Oil Speedway gift car and, if they also beat the driver's fast time, a bonus will be added to the card.

Gates are scheduled to open at 4 p.m. Saturday with hot laps at 6:30 and opening ceremonies at 7.

Ticket prices:
Adults (16 and over): $12
Seniors (62 and over)/Military: $9
Youth (ages 6-15): $5
Kids (5 and under): FREE
Family Pass: $30
Pit Pass: $30
