Lucas Oil Pro Pulling Nationals conclude and season champions crowned at Lucas Oil Speedway
By Lyndal Scranton (Wheatland, MO) -- The Lucas Oil Pro Pulling Nationals wrapped up on Saturday night in front of a big crowd at Lucas Oil Speedway, with Champions Tour season champions crowned in six divisions.
Tim Messer of Memphis, Tenn., had two reasons to celebrate, taking the Optima Batteries Super Modified 2 Wheel Drive Trucks win in Southwinds Dental, with a pull of 311.2. Meanwhile, Messer's Thin Blue Line wrapped up the season championship for the M3 Pulling Team in the division despite winding up 17th on Saturday.

Messer began the night just eight points ahead of defending Super Modified Champion Jared Nelson and the Midnight Revenger but Nelson managed only a 12th place.
David Mills of Knoxville, Tenn., earned the Pro Mod 4 Wheel Drive season championship with a sixth-place pull in War Wagon. Stray Dog, with Darell Varner of Midway, Ky., behind the wheel, prevailed by 1.53 feet over Steve Clem in Ratical for the victory.
Josh Blackbourn of Shullsburg, Wis., took first and second in the Unlimited Super Stocks, piloting Considered Armed & Dangerous HD and International Threat. That nailed down the season championship for the Blackbourn team. Considered Armed & Dangerous HD had a pull of 327.65, 11.49 further than International Threat.
In the Super Farm Tractors division, Team Screaming Norwegian with Justin Johnson of Cottage Grove, Wis., driving earned the season championship with a fifth-place pull. High Maintenan$e, driven by Josh Miley, won the Super Farms event over Jason Viney's All Cranked Up, by a margin of just over three feet.
Don Masterson of Grandview, Indiana, in Tinker Toy, clinched the Fass Fuel Systems Pro Stock Championship with a second-place finish. Dennis Brown in Green Envy earned Saturday's victory by 14.7 feet over Masterson.
In the E3 Spark Plugs Super Modified Tractors, Greg Boyd of Washington, Ind., finished 10th but secured the season championship aboard Green Streak Unlimited. Winning the event was Wayne Sullivan of Warsaw, Ky., in Kentuckian. He had an 8.6-foot margin over runner-up Ricky Long in the Lucas Oil Racing TV machine.

The final night feature for the ASCS Sprints will pay $10,000 to win. Gates open at 4 p.m. Thursday with hot laps at 6:15 and opening ceremonies at 7.
