Lucas Oil Speedway takes a break this weekend before busy June on Lake Lucas, dirt oval and off-road tracks
By Lyndal Scranton (Wheatland, MO) -- Following a memorable Show-Me 100 weekend, in which Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer Scott Bloomquist captured his record sixth Show-Me 100, Lucas Oil Speedway will remain quiet this weekend prior to to a busy June.
"We can't thank our fans enough for a tremendous Show-Me 100 weekend, including Saturday night when they turned out 8,000 strong," Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Dan Robinson said. "Now, after a brief break this weekend, we're looking forward to a big month of June with three forms of racing - and even a bull ride."
Along with the return of the Big Adventure RV Weekly Racing Series on June 9, the 7th annual John Haas Memorial on the Lucas Oil Drat Boat Racing Series - featuring the 250 mile-per-hour Top Fuel Hydro boats - is set for June 8-9 on Lake Lucas. The first day has two qualifying rounds for both Pro and Sportsman divisions, with elimination ladders starting at 9 a.m. Saturday leading to the finals at approximately 3 p.m.
Spectators attending the John Haas Memorial can use their tickets to take in the dirt-track races that night for free. All tickets for the drag boat races also are pit passes at the boat track, allowing up-close access to the boats, drivers and crew members.

On the dirt track June 9, it's the Big Adventure Racing Series Presented by KY3 Digital. The Ozark Golf Cars USRA B-Mods will be the featured class, running for $750 to win. Pitts Homes USRA Modifieds, Warsaw Auto Marine & RV ULMA Late Models and Big O Tires Street Stocks also will be on the program.

Action continues on June 16 with the Big Adventure Weekly Racing Series Bolivar Herald Free-Press Midseason Championships. Then comes another doubleheader weekend, with dirt-track action on June 23 sandwiched between the return of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series.
The 2nd Annual GEICO Off Road Shootout Presented by General Tire - immensely popular in its debut a year ago - has a practice day on June 22 before full programs on June 23 (with free admission to the dirt track at night) and June 24.
The month will conclude with the first Lucas Oil Invitational Pro Bull Ride Presented by ProtecttheHarvest.com on June 29-30 on the dirt track infield.
"So we literally do have a little something for everyone coming up in June," Robinson said. "We encourage everyone to get their tickets ahead of time for the events they want to attend. It's going to be an outstanding month at Lucas Oil Speedway."
