Inside Line Promotions – GREENWOOD, Neb. (Sept. 22, 2014) – Mark Burch Motorsports had the car on the move last weekend during the Midwest Fall Brawl, where Danny Lasoski gained 21 combined positions during the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour features.
The competition at I-80 Speedway started on Friday with Lasoski finishing where he started – third – in his heat race. That relegated him to a B Main, which he won to transfer into the back of the main event.
“Mark really got the race car good in the main event,” he said. “That wasn’t a race track where a lot of passing was going on. Mark had it to where I could run as hard as I wanted. It was good top, bottom and middle. It was a moral victory compared to where we started.”
Lasoski maneuvered from 18th to finish seventh. That earned him the Hard Charger Award and a $1,000 bonus via Searsboro Telephone.
Mark Burch Motorsports returned to the high-banked track on Saturday and following a rain storm that created a minor delay, the team drew a low pill to start on the pole of a heat race.
“Matt Covington got the jump on me and I had to run him down at the end,” Lasoski said.
He made a last-lap pass to regain the lead, which locked the team into the main event. That lined Lasoski up on the outside of the sixth row for the feature.
“There were a lot of cars ahead of us who wrecked,” he said. “We just missed it a little bit. We finished a lucky second. Sometimes it’s better to be lucky. We just weren’t fast enough to win.”
Lasoski rallied from 12th to garner a runner-up result. That marked the team’s ninth top five of the season.
“Hats off to Phil Durst and everybody associated with the Midwest Fall Brawl,” he said. “It’s turned into an event. It just goes to show if you promote you can have a fantastic race for the fans and the drivers. It’s what we need.”
Mark Burch Motorsports and Lasoski will tackle Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo., this Friday and Saturday for the Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.
“It’ll be an emotional race like every year,” Lasoski said. “Jesse and Daniel grew up around here and had a passion for racing. It’s at a phenomenal facility. We’re proud we can go represent Central Missouri and hopefully we can bring the trophy back.”

“Steve Huggins has in excess of 40 years grinding performance racing camshafts,” Burch said. “He has been grinding cams for us since we brought our 360 engine program in house back in 1999. One thing I like about working with Steve is that even after all of these years of working on cams, he is extremely passionate about winning. He will do whatever he can to find the right camshaft that will work with your engine combination, chassis and driver. There is probably no part less expensive in an engine that has a greater impact on the performance then the camshaft. Steve takes great pride in his work and we take great pride in running his cams. Steve worked extra hard last week to get us a new cam for the Fall Brawl at I-80 Speedway. While we made good thunder on Friday, we may have overpowered the race track on Saturday. Steve’s experience and communication of feedback is critical to our success. We’re proud to fly the Huggins Cams banner at Mark Burch Motorsports.”
