Swindell Set for 9th annual LOS 360 Sprint Car Nationals at Lake Ozark Speedway

Inside Line Promotions – GERMANTOWN, Tenn. (Aug. 27, 2018) – Sammy Swindell will climb behind the wheel of the No. 3 sprint car owned by A.G. Rains this weekend during the 9th annual LOS 360 Sprint Car Nationals at Lake Ozark Speedway.
The bullring in Eldon, Mo., hosts the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by SawBlade.com event on Saturday and Sunday with the finale paying $10,000 to win.
Swindell has earned three ASCS National Tour victories – tied for third most – and he has 10 top fives in 13 starts with the series this season. The first obstacle of the weekend is to get a favorable draw.
“We don’t have any control over that, how the draw is and how you line up,” he said. “There’s times when you have cars that are easy to pass and times when there are cars that are hard to pass. You never know how it’s going to stack up. If you can start where you can win your heat you’re almost always in the redraw. You could start in the back and run third and depending on the car count you could still be in the B Main.”
Swindell has one start at the track this year, which came in early May during a World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series show. He was battling for a top 10 when a brake problem resulted in a DNF.
“How the race track changes during the night and what you might have to do with the setup on the car,” he noted of things that could help him this weekend from what he learned several months ago at Lake Ozark Speedway.
Saturday’s race will also be the first in a little more than three and a half weeks for Swindell and Rains together.
“It seems like it’s been a while since we’ve run the 360 stuff, but I can’t see any reason for us not to compete for wins,” Swindell said.
