Inside Line Promotions – SALINA, Okla. (May 7, 2018) – Big Game Motorsports driver Kerry Madsen earned a pair of top-five finishes last weekend with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series during a doubleheader in the Midwest.

“I was hoping for a solid weekend and I was really pleased with how the weekend went,” he said. “We were fast every time we hit the track.”

The Muddy sponsored team started the weekend on Friday at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo., where Madsen qualified 10th despite going out to qualify late.

“I was disappointed at the result, but everyone around us was slower,” he said. “I was pleased the speed was there.”

Madsen advanced from fourth to third place in a heat race before he maneuvered from seventh to third place in the main event.

“We got some good restarts and got up to third in the A Main,” he said. “The key was that I got a good restart one time and then found a better line.”

The speed continued on Saturday at Salina Highbanks Speedway, where Madsen was victorious last season with the World of Outlaws. He kicked off Saturday’s program by timing in second quickest during qualifying before winning a heat race. A fourth-place result in the dash lined him up on the outside of the second row for the main event.

“We got a good start, but it got called back and then we had to criss cross and I didn’t get as good of a start on the inside,” he said. “We got hurt by yellows, too. That’s just racing though. I was up to third, but lost a spot when I didn’t find the rubber quickly enough. We had a car that could have won, but the circumstances didn’t quite roll our way.”

Madsen capped the night with a fourth-place finish, which was the Muddy backed team’s fourth top five of the season.

Big Game Motorsports will compete this Friday at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn., during the Great Lakes Shootout presented by Tweeter Contracting and Harvey’s Five Star Roofing and on Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa.

“I’m excited to race at Jackson, especially with the new configuration,” Madsen said. “I’m also excited about getting back to Knoxville to see what we’ve got. Both tracks have been good for us.”

Madsen won three races at Jackson Motorplex last season. He finished second at Knoxville Raceway five times last year.
