Bryan Hulbert – TULSA, Okla. (April 16, 2018) Rounds three and four on the 2018 season for the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Red River Region presented by Smiley’s Racing Products heads for a pair of quarter-mile ovals this weekend with Creek County Speedway on Friday, April 20 and Caney Valley Speedway on Saturday, April 21.

Kicking off the series fourth season at Tony Stewart presents the Vankor Texas Sprint Car Nationals with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by Sawblade.com, Tennessee’s Brandon Hanks emerged with the points lead over Danny Jennings, Tyler Thomas, Tony Bruce, Jr., and Derek Hagar to complete the top-five.

A chance to shake things up as the series settles into its full-time competitors, defending series champion, Alex Sewell, will be hunting for a second ASCS Red River Region victory at Creek County Speedway. The first of five ASCS sanctioned events at Creek County Speedway in 2018, nine nights have been contested in the series last three years. In those nine races, Washington’s Seth Bergman is the only driver to have a repeat victory.

Hoping to finally turn a lap at Caney Valley Speedway for the first time since 2012 with the former ASCS Sooner Region, Mother Nature has been top dog at the Kansas quarter-mile in every attempt since Mike Goodman’s win on September 22, 2012. A track with a long history with the American Sprint Car Series, Terry Gray was victorious in the National Tour’s only visit on June 21, 1993. The track’s first regional event was April 3, 2004, with Wayne Johnson taking the top spot over Jesse Hockett and Jason Martin.

Friday, April 20 at Creek County Speedway opens at 5:00 P.M. with racing set to begin at 8:00 P.M. (CT). Wingless Sprints of Oklahoma will also be on hand for an all open-wheel Friday night. Admission is $15 for adults. Kids 10-14 get in the grandstands for $6 and children under 10 get in free of charge. Information on Creek County Speedway can be found online at http://www.creekcountyspeedway.co.

Slated to serve as the 2018 season opener for Caney Valley Speedway, after Mother Nature intervened in last Saturday’s affairs, events on Saturday, April 21 open at 4:30 P.M. with racing at 7:00 P.M. (CT). The evening’s card also includes Factory Stocks, Street Stocks, and USRA B-Mods. For more information on Caney Valley Speedway, log onto http://www.caneyvalleyspeedway.net.
