Flud Reigns Supreme Again and Moore Rips Apart Restricted Field in NOW600 CCS Return!

Story by Walker Racing Promotions (Sprintcarsis Photo)
Kellyville, OK | May 10, 2014 – The fourth event during the NOW600 Series
2014 campaign saw a to...tal of 20 cars compete, as the series returned to
the 1/4 mile of Creek County Speedway in Kellyville, OK. One new victor
would rise while another would claim his second triumph of the season
as only the Restricted and A-Class divisions were in action.

Now through four events we have seen a staggering eight winners out of
a possible 11. Those numbers are only expected to rise as we hit the 1/3 mark
of the season and action grows.

The next event for the NOW600 Series will be on June 6th as the series will make it's lone trip to the 1/4 mile of West Siloam Speedway in West Siloam Springs, OK as A-Class and Non-Wing divisions will compete!

A full breakdown of the action at Creek County Speedway can be found below!

NOW600 Restrictor!

A field of seven Restricted drivers made their way to Creek County Speedway this past evening, all vying for an opportunity to add their name to a stacked 2014 winners list. Only one heat race that was dominated by the #9m machine of Matt Moore would lineup the feature event.

As the green flag dropped for the 20 lap feature, it was Moore in his Factory Kahne sponsored #9m who rocketed straight to the lead and started to check out! The Restricted division would not see much action during the feature as the top three stayed the exact same from the time the green flag was waved to the checkered flag.

As the laps ticked off Moore continually powered his machine around the wicked fast 1/4 mile track, not allowing anyone to even somewhat compete with him. The #25 of Taylor Reimer and the CTE Racing #88k of Kelsey Gray would hang back in second and third, but just couldn't challenge Moore.

Once the checkered flag waved it was Matt Moore who would lead from flag to flag in pure domination as he claimed his first victory in 2014! Taylor Reimer would settle for a second place finish, Kelsey Gray closed out the podium while crossing the line with a blown engine, Hunter McWhirt claimed fourth, and Trent Griggs rounded out the top five.

A-Main (20 Laps): 1. Matt Moore (1), 2. Taylor Reimer (2), 3. Kelsey Gray (3), 4. Hunter McWhirt (5), 5. Trent Griggs (6). 6. Cole Roberts (4), 7. Garrett Bias (7).

Lap Leader(s): Matt Moore 1-20
Hard Charger(s): Hunter McWhirt, Trent Griggs +1

NOW600 A-Class!

The A-Class division would see 13 drivers compete at Creek County Speedway as a stacked field would all compete for the victory. Karley Kay Dobson and Frank Flud would claim the two heat race victories to lineup the 20 lap feature event. The #413 machine of Charles Corte and Bailey Felkins in her #51b guided the field to green.

Right from the drop of the green flag it was neither Corte or Felkins, as fourth place starter of Edmond native Grady Chandler rocketed his #00 MelMark Pipe & Supply machine to the lead! The bid for the win would be short lived as Frank Flud in his Outlaw Wings #81 stormed by Chandler on the fourth circuit and into the race lead.

Chandler would hang tough and not let the Pryor native get away too far, but eventually the "Flud" was too much for Chandler and the rest of the field to handle as walked away from the field. While Flud was checking out the action was near the middle as drivers were charging from back to front.

Kyle Keeler was taking his #27k machine from 7th to 3rd as Joel Smith was capping an incredible comeback from last after causing a first lap yellow. While those two were flying through the field and charging to the front, no one could put a stop to Flud.

The Pryor native took the lead on lap four and never looked back as Frank Flud dominated in his second victory of the season with NOW600! Grady Chandler would earn second, Kyle Keeler claimed third, Joel Smith mounted a charge from the rear to finish fourth, and Bailey Felkins rounded out the top five.

A-Main (20 laps): 1. Frank Flud (8), 2. Grady Chandler (4), 3. Kyle Keeler (7), 4. Joel Smith (6), 5. Bailey Felkins (2), 6. Dylan Ward (5), 7. Charles Corte (1), 8. Karley Kay Dobson (3), 9. Jason Collins (9), 10. Dillon Laden (13), 11. Cody Cole (12), 12. Garrett Olson (11), 13. David Baker (10).

Lap Leader(s): Grady Chandler 1-3, Frank Flud 4-20
Hard Charger(s): Frank Flud +7

National Open Wheel 600 Series: The NOW600 Series is a traveling series centered on 600cc Micro Sprints. Three divisions of Restricted, A-Class, and Non-Wing micros run from track to track running for points.
