Wilmot Raceway

Practice Scheduled for May 23rd

The Wilmot Raceway is proud to announce our intentions of putting cars on the track for the first time in 2020, as we plan to tech and practice this Saturday May 23rd, weather permitting because as of now the raceway looks more like Lake Wilmot due to all the recent rain. We will update our plans later in the week, though we certainly look forward to seeing our teams this Saturday. We have plans for atleast one more additional tech/practice day prior to opening for our first race night, which is tentatively scheduled for June 6th. We will be opening our gates and reminding everyone that CDC guidelines will be in place and we ask anyone who has Covid-19, or is not feeling well, or who isn’t presently comfortable in public settings to refrain from attending. Everyone is asked to bring their own pen to the Pit Gate (where you’ll be greeted by Betty) where you will be signing both the standard waiver as well as a new Covid waiver. Drivers should carry their own pen to sign the various registration forms as well. All drivers and cars must go through a safety inspection with Wilmot officials, (Tony, Jerry, and Kyle) prior to hitting the racing surface. Drivers need to be prepared and as safety tech will include checking helmets, suits, and other protective equipment, as well as seeing that you have a RaceCeiver or RE Switch radio which is mandatory. Teams are strongly encouraged to own their own “yellow” Westhold transponder and should register their transponder and other registration information (with Tiffany & Kim) for entry into MyRacePass, the official scoring app of Wilmot Raceway. All practice day pit passes are $20. The grandstand will not be open. While entire crews are welcome to attend practice, teams are requested to uphold social distancing procedures and only one crew member will be allowed to accompany their driver and car through the actual safety/tech process. Signs for reserved pit stalls are not up yet due to wet grounds of late, so please be aware of that and we ask for everyone’s cooperation as we all prepare for the 2020 season. Initial plans are for the pit gate to open at 1, with safety/tech and MRP/track registration to begin as soon as teams unload. On track activity is expected to start around 4, and run into the night, as we’ll turn on our new lights, and learn if any need to be re-aimed. We hope for a few much needed dry days later this week, and then certainly look forward to seeing many of you on Saturday. Thank You
