Jeremy Schultz Returns to Victory Lane at Wilmot Raceway

Jeremy Schultz out dueled Bill Balog for the victory on night number three of IRA competition.
The A main got off to an exciting start with Jeremy Schultz taking the early lead over Ben Schmidt. Schmidt chased the Bob Hood 10w piloted by Schultz. As the feature continued Indiana’s Brandon Wimmer moved his 7TW car past Schmidt and into second place and tried his hand at reeling in Schultz. Behind Wimmer, Bill Balog worked past Schmidt and into third. Schultz reached the tail of the field and began navigating lapped traffic, allowing Balog and Wimmer to get to his rear bumper. Contact between Wimmer’s 7TW and Balog’s 17B would send Wimmer around bringing out the caution. This would set up a 5 lap dash to the finish with Schultz setting the pace. Balog stalked Jeremy Schultz for the closing laps waiting for a mistake that would never come. As the checkered flag fell Jeremy Schultz was victorious by .085 seconds over the North Pole Nightmare. 11th Starting Rico Abreu came home third followed by Paul Nienhiser and defending IRA champion Jake Blackhurst.

28 teams pulled into the pits at Wilmot Raceway for the third night of Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association (IRA) competition. Qualifying saw Bill Balog set quick time in Osborn and Son Trucking Qualifying. Brandon Wimmer timed in second quick ahead of Ben Schmidt and Todd Daun. The second heat race was dominated by Mike Reinke. Reinke brought the SCA 02 across the line in first over California's Rico Abreu. Brandon Wimmer came home in third while Jeremy Schultz and Joey Moughan rounded out the top 5.

Heat race number three was won by Joey Moughan's teammate Ben Schmidt. Paul Neinhiser came home in second followed by Russel Borland and Jake Blackhurst. Dave Uttech brought his black and blue 68 across in fifth.
