Schenck Scores first win of 2018

Doug Schenck was able to hold off Tim Cox through numerous restarts to claim his first win of the 2018 Wisconsin wingLESS Series presented by Auto Meter.

35 teams signed in for action on Meyer Racing night at Wilmot Raceway. Qualifying saw Meyer Racing driver Tim Cox set quick time over Jimmy Sivia and Chris Dodd. Doug Schenck would time in 4th and Nick Petska 5th.

Heat race 1 action saw Allen Hafford pick up the win over Jimmy Kouba. Nick Petska brought his blue and orange machine home in 3rd followed by Tim Cox and Randy Stanford.
Heat 2 was claimed by 4th starting Jimmy Sivia ahead of Matt Vandervere. Nathan Crane came home in 3rd with Rod Colburn in 4th and Chris Klemko in 5th.
The 3rd heat race was claimed by Ryan Zielski over defending champion Jordan Mattson. Jake Kouba would cross the line in 3rd followed by multi time 2018 winner Chris Dodd. Like her brother 1 heat prior, Natalie Klemko finished in the 5th position.
Heat race 4 was claimed by long time racer, but wingLESS series new comer Johnny Fahl. Schenck would finish in 2nd followed by 5th starting Travis Mahoney. Craig Campton and Shawn Swim rounded out the top 5.

A pair of B mains were ran to complete the A main starting lineup. Zach Raidart claimed the first B main over Randy Stanford and Shawn Swim. The 2nd B main was won by Derek Crane ahead of the Klemko siblings, Natalie and Chris.

The A main saw Doug Schenck take the lead from the pole, Jimmy Sivia would challenge early, but problems during the race would sideline Sivia’s 91s. A late restart saw Tim Cox in the Meyer Racing 40 restart in 2nd followed by 12th starting Matt Vandervere, Vandervere challenged Cox on the high side, but contact between him and Jordan Mattson would cause Vandervere’s 15v to sit the wrong direction in turn 3, setting up one final restart. With many employees from Meyer cheering him on in the crowd, Cox was sure to take his best shot at Schenck, but he just could not find a line around the black and green car. As the checkered flags fell it was Doug Schenck victorious over Tim Cox and Jordan Mattson. Chris Dodd would bring his Hopf farms 01 home in the 4th spot, 9th starting Nathan Crane was 5th.
