2017 Rule Changes

There will be a new rulebook posted soon, but in the mean time, here are some rule changes.

Starting from top.....

Engines, Option 1....(in opening paragraph, change Maximum 1" carb spacer to.....Maximum 1 3/8" carb spacer, including 3/8 linkage clearing adapter.

On parts list, very second line is the Quick Fuel carb, add this to the list..... , or Quick Fuel "IRA" 650 carb.

On parts, Add a last line, Any steel harmonic balancer

Lastly, add the following NEW Paragraph under Parts list in Option 1.

Tech procedures, whether previously sealed engine or not, we will be doing visual inspections on the 604 and teams will be requested to remove valve covers. Failure to do so upon request is automatic disqualification. Items we'll be looking for as part of our visual are;
-Must be GM604 block, head, and intake castings #10243880, #12367712, #12486574.
-External Balance Crankshaft, must have the bolt on weight on crankshaft adapter. Must be externally balanced 604 crank. (No Strokers).
-OEM or 604 replacement 4-Valve Relief Flat Top Piston. (No Domes), can be .020 or .030 over bore as 604 replacement pistons are available for those. 355 cubic inch maximum.
-Stock rocker arms, 1.5 ratio, self alligning... no guide plates allowed.
-Stock lift camshaft, will check lifts; intake .475, lobe lift .316. Exhaust .510 lobe lift .340
-OEM hydraulic roller lifters (No link bar lifters).
-Valve Springs; 1. Beehive Max OD 1. 285 2. Single Spring Max OD 1.270
-Must have a working rev limiter. We reserve the right to supply the rev limiter if competitor's appears to be questionable. Rev Limiter needs to mounted on engine side of the firewall (Not in the cockpit).
-We reserve the right to impound rev limiters, tachs, wiring, etc for further inspection.

Under General Rules for ALL CARS.

Carburetor:
Under C, please add, Quick Fuel IRA 650 cfm alchol carb.
Under D, please change to 1 3/8 max carb spacer including the linkage adapter

Wheel Covers: Beginning July 1, 2017 wheel covers with only 3 attachment points, must be bolted at all 3 points utilizing 5/16 flanged steel bolt and approved fastening system. Wheels covers utilizing a minimum of 5 attachment points may continue to use dzus fasteners, though dzus fasteners must be steel only. A one weekend grace period will be provided to first time participants after July 1.

Add to Tire.... Beginning in 2017, we are adding the LR Hoosier tire options of the SC-98 and SC-100. These are in addition to prior H12 options.

Numbers: As discussed at ALL prior meetings, side numbers are to be placed on the triangular panels behind the cage, and on nose piece too.... In addition to tail of course.
