Dover Establishes Quick Time Before Producing Top Five at Huset’s Speedway

Inside Line Promotions – BRANDON, S.D. (July 18, 2022) – Jack Dover posted his second Quick Time Award and top-five result of the season at Huset’s Speedway on Sunday evening.

Dover opened the action by laying down the quickest lap in qualifying for the second straight weekly program at the high-banked track.

“Setting quick time again was pretty awesome,” he said. “It builds your confidence and momentum throughout the night.”

Dover, who was driving for Chris and Rick Bowers, finished fifth in a heat race to advance into the feature redraw. He pulled the No. 4 to line up on the outside of the second row in the main event

“In the heat race it was just fall in line because the track was too good,” he said. “Then in the feature I messed up and put the wrong setup on. I tied the left rear down too hard. I didn’t have any grip on the right rear tire. I just rode around and tried to survive.”

Dover battled for a top five throughout the race before scoring a fifth-place result. That moved him up to fifth in the championship standings – only four points out of fourth place and 29 points behind the leader.

Dover will climb back into his No. 53 sprint car this Wednesday for a race at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb., before returning to Huset’s Speedway on Sunday in the Bowers’ No. 81.
