NEXT UP, SAT. AUG. 5 LoneStar Speedway Has it All: TWIN FEATURES & 7th Annual $10 CARLOAD NIGHT!

CURRENT WEATHER FORECAST SHOWS DRY CONDITIONS WITH RACE TIME TEMPS IN THE UPPER 80's!

Kilgore TX (7/23/17) by DarinShort.com. Some of the most dramatic nights of racing in LoneStar Speedway (LSS) history are on Twin Features night for Factory Stocks …and race fans should mark their calendars now, as the Twin Features for Factory Stocks returns on Saturday, August 5th!

But that’s not all. It’s also the annual “$10 CARLOAD NIGHT” at LSS, where $10 will get your entire carload of fans a general admission grandstand ticket for the night’s racing program! So, in other words, whether there is 1 person, or 6 people in your vehicle, you'll just pay a grand total of $10 for grandstand admittance for all of you. There is no parking fee, or any 'hidden' costs...just $10/car total.

And that’s still not all! It’s also our annual “BACK TO SCHOOL BASH”, which means kids ages 11 and under (with a grandstand ticket stub) will receive free school supplies upon their entrance into the grandstand area. Plus, kids will be entered into our girls/boys special prize giveaways held that night!

Not enough? Well, there's more! When fans arrive at the track, right inside the track entrance on the grandstand side, several race teams will have their cars on display, so you can meet the drivers, take selfies and pictures, purchase race team apparel and check out the cars up close! The pre-race meet-n-greet will take place from 6pm when the grandstand gates open until 7:15 - - so make sure to arrive early.

Note to drivers: if you plan to participate in the pre-race Meet-n-Greet, your car must be staged behind the grandstand area prior to the main grandstand opening, which is at 6pm. The gate that you enter the grandstand area has to be locked before the grandstands open. All people with your car must have either a grandstand ticket or pit pass to be in the Meet-n-Greet area - so please plan accordingly and arrive early to the track. Thanks, in advance for your cooperation!

During intermission, there's going to be a very special attraction that will be taking place. Details of that attraction will be unveiled in the days to come - so, stay tuned!

The night of fun-for-all-ages and wild on-track racing action will be a full point’s night for the Modifieds (paying $1,000 to win and $100 to start) and Limited Modifieds ($500 to win). Each full-purse feature race for the Factory Stocks will pay $400 to win...and they are both full points feature events. The Front-Wheel Drive 4-Cylinders will also compete with heat and feature races. There is no entry fee in any race division 8/6.

As always, any driver not making a feature race will receive non-qualifier money. Modifieds receive $50, Limited Modifieds receive $30, while any non-qualifiers in the Factory Stocks will receive $20.

The format for the Twin Features for Factory Stocks will be identical to the last time LSS ran twin features:

-Factory Stock drivers will sign in, as normal. Qualifying heat races and B-feature(s) will determine the lineup in the first feature race.

-The second, or ‘twin’, Factory Stock feature will line up according to cars that finished on the lead lap of the first feature – but inverted. Then, the remaining lineup will be filled by cars not finishing on the lead lap, then drivers that didn’t finish the first feature (if they’re able to restart), then B-feature alternate drivers not making the first feature.

-Each Factory Stock feature will be 20 laps, and their feature events will be run early and late in the night’s schedule, so drivers will have time to prep their cars for the second feature.

-Each Factory Stock feature will be the following payback: $400 - 200 - 180 - 160 - 140 - 120 - 100 - 100 - 80 - 80 - 60 - 60 - 40…to start. No entry fee. All NQ or non-starters will receive $20. Transponders and working RaCeivers are required; sales and rentals are available at track.

-Both Factory Stock features are full LSS championship point’s events, as was the last time we held them.

-Modified feature payback (20 laps): $1,000 - 500 - 400 - 300 - 250 - 220 - 200 - 180 - 160 - 140 - 120 - 120 - 100...to start. All NQ's or non-starters receive $50. No entry fee. Transponders and working RaCeivers are required; sales and rentals are available at track.

-Limited Modified feature payback (20 laps): $500 - 350 - 250 - 220 - 200 - 180 - 160 - 140 - 120 - 100 - 80 - 80 - 60...to start. All NQ's or non-starters receive $30. No entry fee. Transponders and working RaCeivers are required; sales and rentals are available at track.

-Front-Wheel Drive 4-Cylinders: 150 - 120 - 110 - 100 - 90 - 80 - 70 - 60 - 50 - 40 - 30...to start. No entry fee or draw fee. Working RaCeivers required. No mufflers required. No transponders required. As always, safety rules will be enforced in all divisions.

If some of you recall, here's one example of the wild racing action from a previous Twin Factory Stock feature night:

First off, there were 21 drivers that finished on the lead lap of the first feature, resulting in a massive 21-car invert in the second feature! Yet, somehow the winner of the first feature, DeWayne Pace, managed to recover from being caught up in an incident at the start of the second feature, then methodically picked off cars here and there to eventually take the lead of the second feature in its closing laps, somehow winning both events!

We’re hoping for another exciting return of the ‘Twins’ on August 5th – so don’t miss it!

With only a handful of events remaining in the LoneStar Championship Points Series, there could be a real shakeup in points after this event. Rules for all divisions are on the track website. All pit passes are $30. Click www.LoneStarSpeedway.com for additional details.

Again, it’s carload night, so you will pay the attendant at the entrance to the parking lot $10 upon your arrival. There are no other costs associated with getting into the parking or grandstand area. If you choose to sit in the reserved section, as usual, it is an add-on of $5 per person.

Reminder that ‘summer hours’ are in effect: racing begins at 8pm. We have found that the summer hours program is working really well, as it helps keep the track in optimum condition on hot summer days.

A complete event flyer for August 5th has been posted under the ‘resources’ section of the track website.

Here are some quick facts for the Saturday August 5th Twin Features/Carload Night/Back to School Bash:

-Pits open at 5pm, Grandstands open at 6pm, Driver Meet-n-Greet (behind grandstands) 6pm-7:15pm, Draw Cut off at 7pm, Drivers Meeting at 7:15pm, with Hot Laps between 7:30-8pm (depending on heat and cloud cover), and racing to follow immediately.

-General Admission just $10 per entire carload. Each person in your vehicle will be issued a GA ticket that they will each present at the ticket gate for free admittance. There is no parking fee, or any other fee to be able to get in to the grandstand area.

-Upgrade any ticket to the Reserved Section of the
grandstands for $5 per person

-All Pit Passes $30

-No outside food/drink coolers are allowed inside; a full selection of economically priced food concessions, including beer, are available

-Click www.LoneStarSpeedway.com to check out the event flyer, track details, rules, purse breakdown; etc.
Don’t miss the wild and unpredictable action at LoneStar Speedway on Saturday, August 5th, when Twin Features for Factory Stocks return…along with a full night of racing in the Modifieds, Four Cylinders and Limited Modifieds...all for just $10 admission for your entire carload!
