SUMMIT SHOOTOUT
After a one-year hiatus, the popular Summit Shootout returns in 2022 and will feature USRA track champions and Summit Shootout qualifying race winners from across America to participate in this one-of-a-kind blockbuster battle royale for competitors in the USRA Modified, Medieval USRA Stock Car, USRA B-Mod and USRA Hobby Stock divisions.
Following an open practice on Monday, Oct. 3, racing will take place every night from Tuesday through Saturday, Oct. 4-8, and all USRA classes will participate at one time or another during the six-day event. Summit Shootout heats and feature races will take place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during this year's 9th Annual Summit USRA Nationals at the Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo.
To qualify for the Summit Shootout you must (a) be a current track champion or points leader as of Oct. 2 at a sanctioned Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series racetrack or (b) win a Summit Shootout Qualifier during the 2022 racing season.
If the winner of a Summit Shootout Qualifier is also a track champion, the second-place finisher in that Summit Shootout Qualifier will get the invite to race in the Summit Shootout.
USRA-sanctioned tracks will have the opportunity to host a Summit Shootout Qualifier by sanctioning the event with a minimum top prize of $2,000 for USRA Modifieds, $1,500 for Medieval USRA Stock Cars, $1,250 for USRA B-Mods or $750 for USRA Hobby Stocks.
