Bryan Hulbert – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (July 8, 2020) Ending out a three-race run with a third-place finish over a stout field at Knoxville Raceway, Harli White took to the track in Arkansas and Iowa this past week.

Starting off at I-30 Speedway with the Hammer Hill Twin Bill on Wednesday, July 1, a shower prior to the races resulted in a locked-down surface through the Heat Races that resulted in a B-Feature appearance. Fighting into the next round, Harli clawed her from 18th to seventh.

“It was tough at the start of the night, but once it widened out, we were able to make things happen and really test the car. Finding the issue with it on our last visit with the National Tour, and begin able to get through the field the way we did, I felt like we had a race-winning car if we could have started near the front,” explained Harli.

Getting laps at Knoxville Raceway on Friday and Saturday in preparation for the upcoming My Place Hotels Knoxville 360 Nationals presented by Great Southern Bank, the first night ended with White crossing 15th. Rebounding Saturday, Harli put the Champion Brands/Life of Hope Ministries fourth on the grid and held her own for a third-place finish.

“Friday night, we were just too tight so I didn’t have the corner speed you have to have at Knoxville, but that’s why we were there was to test setups and see what we could figure out and Saturday we went the other direction and found where the car worked. Johnny and I sat down after Friday, looked at what we did as crew chief and driver, and figured out what we needed to do to get better. Hopefully, we can get a few more nights of testing in before the 360 Nationals.”

Up next for the driver of the No. 17w, the team will follow the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network to Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Ark. on Saturday, July 11.

The 2020 season marks the 13th year of racing for Harli White. Racing full time with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network, Harli will also mix in several events throughout the country when not on the road.
