Inside Line Promotions – OSKALOOSA, Iowa (Aug. 11, 2015) – Dale Blaney is prepared for the 55th annual FVP Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s General Store.

Blaney and his Mainstream Holdings, Inc., sponsored CH Motorsports team will invade Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, this Wednesday through Saturday for the premier sprint car event.

“I feel like we’ll time good,” he said. “I feel like we’ll race good. We’ll see what we draw and the track conditions are. It’s kind of a crapshoot, but I think we have enough speed to get into Saturday and make the A Main.”

Blaney, whose best result at the event was an eighth-place finish in 2009, tackled the half-mile oval last Sunday during the 4th annual Capitani Classic.

“We didn’t cut the best qualifying lap on Sunday, but we made it through our heat race,” he said. “I felt like we learned a few things that we can make ourselves better.”

Blaney qualified 15th quickest and advanced from fifth to second place during a heat race, which lined the Mainstream Holdings, Inc., backed car up on the outside of the 10th row for the main event.

“We were starting 20th and it wasn’t really a necessity that we ran a lot of laps,” he said. “I wanted to race most of it to be able to run the top and bottom. I was trying some things on the race track to see what my car would do. Overall it was a learning night and I think we learned some things that will help us for the Nationals.”

Blaney pulled off the track with approximately 10 laps remaining and he was credited with a 20th-place result.

The weekend wrapped up on Sunday at Southern Iowa Speedway during the FVP National Sprint League’s Front Row Challenge.

Blaney qualified fifth quickest and finished fifth in a heat race. He then ended fourth in the pole shuffle to garner the fourth starting position for the main event.

“It was going to be hard to pass,” he said. “I jumped to third right away. I felt like we were in good position to run in the top three and compete, but for whatever reason it went dead straight into the wall. I rode the wall for about 40 yards. By the time I gathered it up I was back to 10th. We ran it a little, but ended up pulling in around Lap 20.”

Blaney ended with a 19th-place finish.
