Memorabilia Auction to Benefit National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame to Take Place on Saturday at Noon

KNOXVILLE, IOWA (September 27, 2013) – The annual memorabilia auction that takes place during the Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals will occur at 12 Noon tomorrow (Saturday, September 28) on the second floor of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum (NSCHoF&M). The museum-benefit auction also benefits the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame at the Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky. Autographed items being auctioned include those from Dick Trickle, Steve Francis, Sammy Swindell, Jeff Gordon, Billy Moyer, Ken Schrader, Steve Kinser, Kasey Kahne, Darrel DeFrance and Ryan Newman amongst many other champions.

According to NSCHoF&M executive director Bob Baker, “We are very proud of our relationship with the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame and its representatives Bill Holder and Bob Markos. It is a similar good relationship to what we have with Lynn Paxton at the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing in York Springs, Pennsylvania. We are all in the motorsports historic preservation business, so we need to work together to continue to grow all institutions. I would be remiss in not thanking all the memorabilia donors and bidders, especially the dirt late model teams and fans that are in Knoxville, Iowa, this week. They truly make this happen, as do museum volunteers Lynn Richard and his family, Kathy Krafka-Harkema, Jim Rasmussen, Larry Janicsek, Larry Hartzold and several others.”

Those individuals interested in learning more about the activities this week at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum should visit the museum’s web site at www.sprintcarhof.com.
