Harrington Holds Off Lyons to Win Outlaw Late Model Feature
KALAMAZOO, MI - Defending Outlaw Super Late Model champion Todd Harrington held four-time track champion Brandon Lyons to win the Outlaw Super Late Model feature Friday night at Kalamazoo Speedway. Two-time champ Mark Shook finished third beating out Craig Everage and Doug True. Rick Senneker led the second half of the top ten over fast qualifier Andrew Brest, Kevin Sauer, Intimidator 100 winner Adam Terry and Bill Tomlinson.
For the second consecutive week Chris Garrett picked up the victory in the Late Model Sportsman feature. Seven-time and defending champion Buddy Head was the runner up beating out fast qualifier Andy Bozell, Chris Shannon and Jeff Bozell. AJ Foote finished sixth while Austin Maynard, Dylan Stovall, Keith Wilfong and Ryan Stutz completed the top ten.
Kyle Ribble set fast time, started deep in the pack and drove to the victory in the 35 lap Street Stock feature. Brandon Zachary continued his streak of good runs with a runner-up finish beating out Zack Cook, Shane Miller and former Outlaw Super Late Model champion Mike “Bubba” Brooks. Barry Jenkins finished a solid sixth ahead of Colin Bozell, Bug Schisler, Kevin Sweat and Doug Gallandt.
The 25 lap Zoo Stock feature had some trouble getting started but once they got a lap in the action was intense. Rielly Meade held off Logan Hiemstra by just 0.298 seconds to pick up the victory. Jorden Brinkert finished third beating out fast qualifier Grant Lofquist and former champion Brock Sweeter. Justin Bozell led the second half of the top ten over Jared Blanchard, Matthew Elsey Jr., Charles Anderson and Ross Bergman. Renae Letts picked up the win in the “B” Feature.
This Friday night, May 17 is Ben Beeler Memorial Trophy Night Presented by Send Out Cards. The Outlaw Super Late Models will be back in action with defending champion Todd Harrington trying to go back to back. Also in action will be the Late Model Sportsman, Street Stocks, Outlaw FWD’s and Zoo Stocks.
