Thone Motorsports always presents a professional appearance and has proven they have the performance to match. Mike Kertscher earned the team their first victory in IRA Sprints competition over the weekend. 27 teams pulled into the Oshkosh Speedzone for the Bullring Showdown. Lap traffic would pay off for the Thone team as Kertscher maneuvered his EAGLE through lapped traffic better than anyone and was able to sneak around the two leading cars to bring home the first ever victory for the Thone Motorsports Team.

Steve Poirier was still chasing his first series win coming into Friday night’s Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprint event at the Mohawk International Raceway. That was all the 2016 and seven-time series champion needed. The St. Mathieu de Beloeil, Que., driver had won seven of the last 11 events at the fast half-mile. Poirier was dominant in the 25-lap A-Main driving the Kevin Lovey’s prepared EAGLE from the second row. Nephew Jordan placed second giving EAGLE yet another 1-2 finish.

The Nebraska 360 Sprint Series invaded Junction Motor Speedway to try a hand at the new 3/8 mile track size. It was an all EMi podium with Jason Martin claiming the inaugural victory in his SCHNEE chassis. Starting in the fifth position, Jason used lap five to his advantage passing fellow EMi driver, Ryan Roberts, for the lead. Martin maneuvered through lap traffic and was able to hold on and take the win. Ryan Roberts finished 2nd in his EAGLE followed by Don Droud Jr. in a SCHNEE.

Jordan Boston has found his stride in the Kirk Cosaert #82 SCHNEE as of late. The Lincoln, NE based driver has won the last two races with the most recent being with the ASCS Warrior Region. His first career victory with this group, Jordan led all but one lap on the way to victory at U.S. 36 Raceway in Cameron, Mo. It was Boston’s third overall ASCS victory, with an ASCS Midwest as well as an ASCS National Tour victory at I-90 Speedway leading up to this triumph.
