Lamar, Larson, Silaggi, Ellithorpe, Kessler, and Marshall all Take Checkers at the Randy Byerly Memorial Race

105 Car signed in tonight to honor fellow racer Randy Byerly. Byerly a 2-time Hobby Stick Champion at the Maquoketa Speedway was taken from us last year in a vehicle accident. Tonight’s Feature winners were all in the Memory of Randy.

The American Iron Racing Series was on Hand with us tonight. Dan Kessler used his pole position redraw to jump out front and never look back. Dan Kessler went on to lead flag to flag, followed Bruce Yoerger 2nd, Tim Bader 3rd, Ron Cook and Dan Hudspeth rounded out the top 5. Matt Hudspeth and Paul Howard were the heat race winners.

29 IMCA Sport Mods signed in to try for a spot in the 24 car a main event. Jerry Miles and Jarett Franzen would lead the field to the drop of the green flag. Franzen was able to put the 33 out front early, but after a few early cautions Bob Silaggi was able to get around him and take the point. Franzen was able to keep the pressure on him most of the race but was passed by Shane Paris Late in the race. Bob Silaggi was able to take home the win, followed but Shane Paris 2nd, Jarett Franzen 3rd, with Tony Olson and Tyler Soppe rounding out the top 5. Heat race winners were, Ed Mills, Joe Grant, Shane Paris, and Bob Silaggi. Justin Becker and Ryan Reed won the two B Mains.

Chase Zaruba and Andrew Chelf lead the Rev Chassis / Gabe Motor Company IMCA Stock Cars to the drop of the green. Chelf would put the 17 out front at the beginning and hold it till lap 12 when Jacob Ellithorpe was able to work around him for the lead. Jacob Ellithorpe went on to take the win followed buy Kyle Merkes 2nd, Andrew Chelf 3rd, Leah Wroten and Joe Zrostlik rounded out the top 5. Scott Jordan and Andrew Chelf were heat race winners.

Ashley Rueman and Brett Marshall would lead the Jackson County Fairboard Sport Compact feature to the drop of the green. Brett Marshall jumped out to the early lead and would still be there on lap 12. Cody Staley and Dustin Forbes would trade the runner up spot most the race. Marshall went on to take the win, Cody Staley was able to take over and hold 2nd, followed by Dustin Forbes 3rd. Tyler Shady and and Tim Sibley came home 4th and 5th. Dustin Forbes and Brett Marshall were heat race winners.

The Randy Byerly Memorial Karls Auto Salvage IMCA Hobby Stocks hit the track for their 15 lap main event, Randy Byerly and Dawson Bowling lead the field to the green. Randy Lamar put his 4r out front right away. Despite a late race battle with the 01 of Kile Vohringer and the 1kKaden Reynolds, Randy Lamar was able to lead flag to flag and take the win. Kile Vohringer came home 2nd, followed but Kaden Reynolds 3rd. Dakota Simonsen and Brett Vanous rounded out the top 5. Lamar, Simonsen, and Vohringer were heat race winners.

The 20 lap IMCA Modified Feature was the last event of the night, Bob Dominacki was able to use his pole position start to lead the first couple laps. Jeff Larson was able to get around Dominacki and take the lead. A couple late race Cautions would slow the field, Jeff Bone Larson was able to hold onto the lead for the remainder of the race to take the victory. Bryce Garnhart was able to work his way into the 2nd spot, followed by Ray Cox Jr 3rd, Steve Johnson and Austin Blume would round out the top 5. Jaden Fryer and Jeff Larson were the heat race winners.
