MORE PHOTOS FROM I-55 RACEWAY Pevely, MO (April 22, 2006) A springtime thunderstorm rolled into I-55 Raceway bringing the show to an early end. Only two of the four divisions were able to complete their feature events. The UMP Late Models and UMP Sportsman were unable to run their main events and will run their main event next Saturday night at the start of the program. The UMP Modified division continued to put on a great show as they have all season. Mike Harrison made his second visit of the 2006 racing season to I-55 Raceway and picked up his second feature event victory. Harrison started on the pole for the main event and led all twenty laps, but had his hands full with Eric Mabery and Bobby Bittle. Harrison and Mabery kept their cars right along the inside wall for most of the event, while Bittle was forced to use the middle line as he moved up from the twelvth starting position. Bittle moved to the front quickly using that line as he found himself in the third position just seven laps into the main event. Bittle had moved up along side Harrison for the lead on lap fifteen, but a caution slowed the field and forced him back to the third position on the restart. Mabery could get his right front up to Harrison's left rear on occassion, but couldn't get along side him. Harrison held off both challengers and claimed the win. Mabery took the second spot with Bittle taking third. Brian Worley picked up the fourth spot with Tom Ratajczyk taking fifth. Scott Weber moved up from the twenty-fourth starting position to claim the sixth position. Homer Mooney rolled to victory in the AARA Pro 4 Stock main event. Mooney held of Mike McMullin in the closing laps to earn the win. Tray Harris and Chris Fisher battled for the lead in the early laps, but contact between the two sent them spinning forcing them to restart the event from the rear on the restart. Brad Smith picked up the third position with Nathan Portell finishing fourth and Steve Crump rounding out the top five.
