Pevely, MO (June 25, 2005) Tim Ratajczyk of Columbia, IL grabbed his first UMP Late Model victory of the 2005 season at I-55 Raceway. Ratajczyk was able to completely sweep the action as he won his qualifying heat, the dash and the main event. Ratajczyk paced all twenty-five laps of the main event as held off two other I-55 Raceway veterans to earn the win. Mark Oller chased Ratajczyk around the bottom of the track for all twenty-five laps but could never make a serious challenge on Ratajczyk for the lead and settled for the second spot. Ed Dixon roared around the top of the track for most of the event, banging off the cushion on the top as he crossed the line in third. Billy Faust, who was leading the track points in the UMP Late Model division coming into tonight by just two points over Dixon, took the fourth spot. Brian Wolfmeier crossed the line in fifth. Jim Shereck of St. Charles, MO also made a clean sweep of the action in the UMP Modified division. Shereck had to hold off Leon Rakers for the entire twenty laps of the main event as the two battled fiercly for the lead throughout the entire twenty laps of the main event. Rakers got his front wheels along side Shereck on several different occassions but couldn't get a good enough run to get around Shereck. Doug Wood came home in the third spot as he battled with Brian Wolfmeier who finished fourth for most of the twenty laps. Jerry Grither recovered from a spin early on in the main event to come back and finish fifth. Jeff LeBaube, who finished eighth, took the Missouri/Illinois Dodge Dealers Hard Charger Award as he improved his finishing position the most spots from where he started in the main event. Paul Bauman continued his great season at I-55 Raceway in the AARA Sportsman division. Bauman won in dominating fashion as he pulled away to a ten car length victory. Mike Nicholson and Paul Belken battled it out for the second spot with Nicholson just edging out Belken for the position. Jim Smith took the fourth spot and Troy Naeger brought his Dodge Charger home in the fifth spot. Conrad Miner claimed the AARA Pro 4 Stock main event. Miner just edged out Tray Harris at the line after the two made contact coming out of turn four to take the checkered flag. Scott Geary finished in the third spot with Dustin Korte and Chris Fisher rounding out the top five.
