Pevely, MO (June 18, 2005) Another great field of racecars turned out and provided the fans with an exciting night of racing at I-55 Raceway. Mark Voigt seemed to be on a mission in the United Midwestern Promoters (UMP) Late Model division. Voigt was simply dominating as he completed a clean sweep by winning his qualifying heat, the dash and the main event. Voigt started on the front row pole for the main event and took off at the drop of the green flag and opened up over a full straight away lead over the second place car of Ed Dixon before the first caution came on lap eighteen. As the green flag dropped for the restart, Voigt pulled away again till a caution came out a couple of laps later when Dixon's motor expired and Mark Oller spun to avoid the slowing car of Dixon. Voigt once again pulled away on the restart from the field and took an impressive victory. Bryan Collins brought his machine home in the second position. Brian Wolfmeier crossed the line in third, Billy Faust worked his way to a fourth place finish after starting near the tail of the field. Tim Ratajczyk rounded out the top five. Brian Worley claimed a dramatic win in the UMP Modified division. Worley led all twenty laps of the main event, at least at the start/finish line. Ray Walsh applied the pressure to Worley for all twenty laps of the main event. Walsh made a move on Worley coming out of turn two on the final lap and took the lead on down the back stretch, but Worley shot back past Walsh in turns three and four and held on to win as the two crossed the line side by side with Worley just inches ahead. Bobby Bittle worked his way up from the ninth starting spot to finish third. Tom Ratajczyk took the fourth position and Brent Mullins rounded out the top five. A hard crash on the back stretch just past the half way point eliminated four tough competitors. Paul Bailey, Matt Weidner, Dennis Richards and Larry Hull all had their night end after the crash. Bailey, Weidner and Richard's cars all suffered major damage. Everyone was alright after the incident, although Richard's had to be helped from the car and was seen by the medical staff at the track. A great three way battle for the win in the AARA Sportsman division came down to the final lap. Paul Bauman led the early laps until Tom Smallwood chased him down and moved past. Smallwood and Bauman battled for the lead until a late caution bunched up the field. Paul Belken joined the battle for the lead on the restart. After another caution, the race was restarted with just two laps remaining. Bauman moved to the inside of Smallwood and edged his way past and into the lead and went on to earn the victory. Smallwood held on to finish second with Belken taking third. Scott Stuppy took the fourth spot and Chuck Adams completed the top five. Conrad Miner held off the early challenges of Dustin Korte and went on to claim the win in the AARA Pro 4 Stock division. Brad Almond took the third spot, with Jason Crump finishing fourth and Chris Fisher fifth.
