ANDY JANKOWIAK WINS THE 22ND ANNUAL GEORGE DECKER MEMORIAL

A busy night of racing took place this past Saturday at Holland (N.Y.) Speedway. The Busch Light 100 featured the 22nd Annual George Decker Memorial for the Race of Champions Sportsman Modified Series; the Rick Wylie Classic for the Race of Champions Super Stock Series as well as the Butch Palmer Classic for the Race of Champions FOAR SCORE Four Cylinder Dash Series.

The race night also provided the conclusion of the Wilbert’s 100 originally delayed by weather on Saturday, July 8.

Trevor Catalano of Ontario, N.Y., captured the Race of Champions Sportsman Modified victory in the conclusion of the Wilbert’s 100 from July 8, topping Shawn Nye of Lancaster, N.Y., and Kevin Timmerman of Ontario, N.Y. Alan Bookmiller of Castile, N.Y., and Eddie Hawkins of Marion, N.Y., rounded out the top-five.

Andy Jankowiak of Tonawanda, N.Y., won the 22nd Annual George Decker Memorial as the nightcap feature. Jankowiak out maneuvered Shawn Nye of Lancaster, N.Y., on a restart and held him off for the victory.

Eddie Hawkins, Jankowiak and Trevor Catalano won the qualifying races, while Shawn Nye posted the fastest time during the green-white-checker group qualifying.

Tommy Krawczyk of Orchard Park, N.Y., captured the Rick Wylie Classic for the Race of Champions Super Stocks over Joe Mancuso of Buffalo, N.Y.

Matt Druar of Clarence, N.Y., finished third with Jake Wylie of Derby, N.Y., coming home fourth. Nick Robinson of Waverly, N.Y., rounded out the top-five.

Krawczyk, Mancuso and Druar won the qualifying races. Krawczyk turned in the fastest time during green-white-checker qualifying.

Nick Robinson of Waverly, N.Y., continued his dominance of the Race of Champions FOAR SCORE Four Cylinder Dash Series as he drove to victory lane once again in the Butch Palmer Classic.

Robinson topped Andrew Lewis, Jr., of Ontario, N.Y., and Russ Bulger of Buffalo, N.Y.

Kyle Casper of Cheektowaga, N.Y., and Chris Deyoe of East Otto, N.Y., rounded out the top-five.

Josh Schosek of Hamburg, N.Y., Robinson, and Maon Hanel of Clarence, N.Y., won the qualifying races.

Tim Welshans of South Wales, N.Y., completed the Wilbert’s 100 Race of Champions Street Stock Series competition in victory lane.

Jacob Gustafson of Webster, N.Y., finished second with Nik Welshans of West Seneca, N.Y., finishing third. Joshua Hathaway of Holland, N.Y., finished fourth and Eric Brown of Colden, N.Y., finished fifth.

Tim Welshans and Hathaway won the qualifying races.

The next races for the Race of Champions Modified family of Series is this Friday with he Maynard Troyer Classic IV at Spencer Speedway in Williamson, N.Y.
