Kyle Lee picks up a BIG WIN at the Dirt Capitol
Driver of the 2T set fast time in his group, won his heat race, started on the outside of the front row and dominated the 30 Lap, $1,500 to win Cochran Auctioneers Late Model Sportmans feature.
Kyle Lee who just graduated from high school showed a level of maturity and racing confidence that most people never see. “I really got to think my team”, Lee noted in victory lane. Kyle led every lap and at times pulled away from the field. “I just needed to hit my marks”, stated Kyle “I knew I had a good car”.
Derick Quade in the 23Q started on the pole but dropped back to 3rd as Paul Cursey in the #37 moved into 2nd but could not match the winner Kyle Lee.
We had several big movers in the feature. James Lichliter in the #8 started 11th and finished 7th. Greg Roberson in the #19 started 9th and finished 5th. Trever Feather in the #20 from Winchester Virginia started 20th and blasted his way to 8th.
Justin Weaver found bad luck early in the night in his 2J and used Brayan Andersons #25 in the feature in which Weaver started 25th and forced his way to finish 14th.

In the MBH Crate Late Models, the feature started with cars rolling 3 and 4 wide going into turn 1 but the M14 of Transtan Stoner made his way to victory lane. Stoner led most of the feature with Allen Brannon from Winchester Virginia giving chase. Logan Roberson, multi winner in the MBH Crate Late Models had a strong 3rd place finish followed by Steve Lowery.
Early in the feature the 00 of Mike Franklin found the outside wall at Turn #1. Franklin walked away from the incident but the car was not so lucky.
The #32 of Lindsay Barton was a big mover in the feature starting 10th and pushed her away to as high as 5th but finished 6th.

The Pure Stocks had to be the race of the night. Ben Bowie in the #12 jumped out to an early lead but after a few cautions Jaime Zentmyer, Craig Parrill and Chris Ebersole were stealing the show. 3 wide several times lap after lap until Parrill had the lead with Ebersole very close in 2nd and Zentmyer in 3rd. Midway in the feature Ebersole pushed up in turn #2 causing heavy contact between the #34c of Parrill and the #46 of Ebersole. Parrill kept moving but Ebersole stopped on the track causing the caution flag wave. On the restart Parrill and Zentmyer were side by side but it was Craig Parrill taking the checkered flag.

In the Mason Dixon Auto Auction Hobby Stocks it was Shawn Shoemaker taking the checkered flag. The big mover of the race was Dylan Rutherford from Winchester Virginia in which he started 7th and finished 2nd.

In the E-mods the #20 of Stephen Quade rolled into victory lane followed by the #26 of James Sparks. Quade in victory lane, “I love this track. I always wanted a win at Hagerstown”.

The All American Outlaws had a first time winner in victory lane. The #99 of Bryan Neff had never driver in the Outlaw series and led every lap in the All American Outlaw feature.

The Hagerstown Speedway will be back in action on Saturday June 11th with the Appalachian Mt. Speedweek Series in which the Super Late Models will race for $5,000. Also in action will be the Late Model Sportsmans, Pure Stocks, Hobby Stocks and the Penn Mar Vintage.
