Greenbush Race Park

Clear Skies, Warm Temperatures, and High Horsepower Excitement

Clear skies, warm temperatures, and some high horsepower excitement on the track greeted race fans once again at the Greenbush Racepark.

Up first was the Wissota Pure stock class with a good field of cars led by Mason Smith and Keife Keinz on the front row. At the drop of the green flag Kainz took the early lead and soon was engaged in a four-car battle for the lead. Soon after if was Mason Scholin and Dustin great finish to the feature race.

The Wissota Midwest Modifieds had a full field of 20 cars as Joel Olson and Gary James Nelson put the pedal to the metal at the drop of the green flag. Behind them the field was two and three wide at almost every turn. All that hard racing for position brought out the yellow flag a few times as the race continued. A few cars not normally at the Greenbush Race Park had some tough luck. Hunter Weeks and Micheal Jacobson both looked to be having good nights before retiring their cars to the pits. The man on the move was Justin Olson who started in 16th and made his way all the way to 6th at the drop of the checkers. Out front it was Gary James Nelson bringing home the win followed closely by Micheal Blevins Sr who moved up six spots to claim the runner up position. In third it was Connor Drewry, Taylor Jacobson, and Aaron Blacklance coming home in fifth.

The 4-cylinders lined up for their shot at the checkers with Zach Honer and Gabriel Espe on the front row. The fastest car in the field however would be starting towards the rear of the field giving some hope to those in the front few rows. Those hope would soon go to the wayside as Waylon Current was able to drive around the field in short order and put his number 9 car out front. Behind him Jonah Espe, Brandon Hunter and Travis Olafson Battled for the next three spots. Olafson had his car right against the rev limiter as he drove wide open through the turns. As the checkered flag fell it was once again Current taking the win followed by Olafson, Gabriel Espe, Hunter and Jonah Espe in fifth place.

Next in line was the Wissota Street Stock feature. John Halvorson driving a car he built and behind the wheel of it for only the second time was on the pole. To his outside starting in second was Devyn Weleski. As the green flag flew the cars went three wide entering turn one. That then would continue throughout the entire feature event as you could throw a blanket over the top seven cars. Lots of contact both intentional and unintentional helped to shuffle the order of the cars several times. Halvorson was able to keep his car out front for most of the event staying in front of all the chaos that ensued behind him. Jeremy Gust made a few attempts at the lead and was soon battling for second and third as Braden Brauer and Jerome Berger often went three wide through the turns battling for position. Trey Hess had a strong car as well and made several attempts to get to the front. At the line it Brauer with the win. He was followed closely by Halvorson, Berger, Scotty Messner, and Hess in 5th in what was one of the most entertaining races of the season.

The final event of the evening was the Wissota Modifieds. Jordan Duray started on the pole with Mike Tiani to his outside starting in second. Tiani and Duray had a good battle for the lead as the race went on. A little further back in the pack the Bryce Borgen, Shawn Teunis, and Ryan Johnson had a good battle for position. Ward Imrie was able to capitalize on a caution with a great restart gaining a few spots and making his way to front of the field after a good battle with Duray. Rick Jacobson had a strong showing by moving up 5 positions and had the speed to keep up with Imrie. As the cars crossed the finish line it was Imrie with the win. Behind him was Jacobson, Duray, Dustin Wahl, and Rick Delaine rounding out the top 5.
