Greenbush Race Park

Dvergsten, Wahl, Blacklance, Leeper, Brauer take the checkered flags

Another hot night with inclement weather spread throughout the region dissipated once again as mother nature dealt the Greenbush Race Park another perfect night of weather for some great racing.

In the Wissota Midwest Modifieds, it was Tra Ewalt and Dane Olson on the front row taking the green flag. As the race went on many cars moved up and fell back. Ewalt fell back to the middle of the back while Connor Graff, Aaron Blacklance, and Cole Chernosky made their way to the front of the field. The track was beginning to widen out towards the end of the feature and numerous drivers brought out the yellow flag by being a little too aggressive with the gas pedal. Justin Olson consistently ran the high line well and made his way towards the front as he battled with Chernosky, Blacklance, and Connor Drewry who started deep in the field. At the checkers it was Blacklance, Chernosky, Justin Olson, Connor Drewry, and Chris Edmonds rounding out your top 5.

In the Wissota Pure Stocks it was Macey Anderson and Keifer Kainz who brought the field to green flag. At the beginning of the race, it was Billy and Caylyn Binkley Battling up front with a whole slew of cars in pursuit. As the laps proceeded to go by, the car of Kade Leeper who started in the 7th position was on the move along with Dustin Puffe, And Mason Scholin. A few cautions sent some of the contenders to the rear, but most would make their way towards the front of the field. Leeper was out to a strong lead before the caution flag waved and once the green was back out, he drove his number 3 car to the win. Behind him is was Scholin, Puffe, Aaron Bitker, and Caylyn Binkley in fifth. Side by side finishes at the line throughout the field made for an entertaining feature event.

The Wissota Street stock feature went to green with the cars of Jayson Bronk and Billy Binkley at the helm. Early on it was Devyn Weleski who took the early lead and throughout much of the race had command and several car lengths over second place. Jerome Berger, Jeremy Gust, A.J. Keller, and John Halvorson were battling hard for the top four positions. Often going 3 wide into the corner, the Streets were once again putting on a great show for the fans in the stands. As the race wore on it was Braden Brauer who started in the 8th position who began to work his way through the field. Throwing his car hard into turn one and diamonding off the corner, he was able to pass cars and eventually catch your leader. Side by side with Weleski entering turn three as they came to the checked it was Brauer stealing the win by about a foot at the line. Weleski in second, followed by Gust, Keller, and Berger rounding out your top 5.
The Wissota Modifieds had a great field of 17 cars that were brough to the green flag with Mike Tiani and Ryan Johnson on the front row. As the laps wore on it was Dustin Wahl and Bryce Borgen who were the big movers through the field. As the battles raged on thought-out the field often going 3 wide entering the corner, Shawn Teunis, Ward Imrie, and Rick Delaine all moved up after starting deep in the field. A few cautions came out as the lead cars were battling with the lapped cars with the lead car of Blacklance getting into the back of a lapped car. He was able to retain his position but, on the restart, it was Dustin Wahl who was able to keep his car glued to the bottom of the track while still driving it hard into the corner. Once in the lead Wahl did separate a few car lengths from the rest of the field. Behind him mayhem broke out for the remainder of the top eight positions. As the field came to the checkered flag it was Wahl picking up the win followed by Borgen, Blacklance, Chernosky, and Imrie in fifth place.
In the lightning sprints it was Evan Yanish on the pole and Kate Taves to his outside taking the field to the green flag. For much of the race it was Kate Taves showing the way with Matt Taves the youngster running in second. A few cautions and some motor issues thinned the field a little as the race wore on. Dexter Dvergsten, who was running in the third position most of the race found some speed after a caution flag flew and made his way to the front of the field. Emmit Isane who slipped of the track bringing out a cation flag was able to make his way back to fourth. Dvergsten would take home the win followed by Kate Taves, Matt Taves, Isane, and Yanish in fifth.
