Greenbush Race Park

Current, Messner, Puschinsky, Drewry and Thomas Winners

Another hot and humid evening greeted those in attendance at the Greenbush race park this last Saturday evening. Five classes were on hand to enjoy a great night of racing action on the high banks.
In the 4-cylinder feature it was Gabriel Espe and Gordon Hunter taking the green flag. Early on it was Brandon Hunter making some good moves to get to the front of the pack. Travis Olafson had a good run going but got crossed up and after a little incident in turn 4 he was unable to continue. Meanwhile all the action up front it was once again the white car of Waylon Current making his way to the lead in short order. Current soon pulled away in the lead with Hunter, Gabriel Espe, Justin Honer and Kamea Mulholland finishing in that order.
In the street stocks, the field was brought to green with the car of Jerome Berger on the pole with John Halvorson starting in second. As the laps wore on it became harder for the cars running the high side of the track to hang onto the racing surface. Jeremy Gust in a battle for the 5th position found himself off the backstretch and brought out the caution. As the race wore on it would be Scotty Messner capitalizing on the mistakes of the drivers in front of him. Able to snag the victory, he was followed by Berger in 2nd, Halvorson, Chase Boen, and Devyn Weleski in 5th.
In the Pure stocks it was Keifer Kainz and Aiden Olson bringing the field to green. An early caution with a little contact and a collision with the tractor tire in turn 4 ended the night for Olson. As the field went back to green it was a clean finish to the race with Braden Puschinsky taking the checkers followed by Mason Scholin, Billy Binkley, Caryln Binkley, and Kiefer Kainz rounding out your top five.
In the Midwest Modifieds it was Joel Olson and Connor Drewry on the front row. As they took the green flag a mad dash for the top 5 spots ensued behind them. An excellent five car battle broke out for the top positions. As Aaron Blacklance made his way from starting mid pack, it was Drewry running a flawless race out front. Running the high side of the track for the early part of the race, once he heard cars closing in on his rear bumper he changed his lines. He was able to find enough traction and keep just enough momentum to take home the checkered flag in a great display of driving and awareness. Blacklance would finish in second followed by Olson, Alex Johnson, and Joel Olson in 5th.
In the Wissota Modified feature, it began with Ryan Hagen and Shawn Teunis on the front row. As the race went to green there was once again three wide racing throughout the field. As the race wore on a few cautions came out. Aaron Holton was in the lead for moment when one of those cautions erased his pass for the lead and had to restart in third. Soon after that, it was Dustin Wahls turn to go backwards. Wahl, who had moved up to a top three position had his car lock up in turn one and had to restart at the rear of the field. As the cars crossed the checkered flag it was impressive run by Joseph Thomas taking the win followed by Bryce Borgen, Aaron Blacklance, Aaron Holtan, and Teunis in 5th.
