Greenbush Race Park
Wahl, Blacklance, Puffe and Gust Winners
With the threat of rain and clouds everywhere in the area on Saturday night, fans and racers alike mad their way to the Greenbush Racepark. Thankfully the weather cooperated, and we were able to get in full night of racing.
The first feature even was the Wissota Street Stocks. Jerome Berger started on the pole with Jeremy Gust to his outside. Gust got a good run on the start and got out to a 4 car length advantage with Berger trying to close gap. John Halvorson closed in on Berger and made it a 3-car battle for the lead. At the line it was Gust bringing home the victory with Berger and Halvorson going side by side for 2nd place. Berger would get him by a nose and Halvorson came home in third.
The Midwest Modifieds had a good field of cars with Tra Ewalt and Alex Johnson on the front row. Johnson took advantage of a good start to take the lead as Ewalt fell back to 4th early on. Soon Johnson had company out front as a 5-car battle ensued for the top positions. Cars were side by side and making bold moves throughout the entire field of cars. Taylor Jacobson, Aaron Blacklance, and Justin Olson were swapping lines and positions as they made their way forward and through traffic. Connor Graff who started last soon found himself in the mix as well. Blacklance once again had a good handling car and came home with the checkered flag. Following him to the line it was Jacobson, Justin Olson, Alex Johnson, and Garret Paul in 5th.
The Pure Stocks took to the track with Keifer Kainz on the pole and Aaden Olson to his outside. Olson got a good start and took the lead. Mason Scholin followed Dustin Puffe as they took over first and second place. Once again, the red, white, and blue car of Puffe was the class of the field as he pulled away. After Scholin got in a groove he was able to keep pace with Puffe but the lead was too large to overcome. At the line is Puffe, Scholin, Kainz, and Olson in 4th.
The final feature of the night was worth the wait. Tim Thomas and Aaron Holtan took the stacked field to the green flag. Tanner Williamson, Ward Imre, and Patrick Sobolik were all on the move throughout the event. Many times, the cars battling for position were able to go 3 wide into the corners as the track was once again in perfect shape for the feature races. As the race wore on it was Williamson on the back bumper of Imre weaving through traffic as Wahl took the Lead. Numerous cautions bunched the field back up and allowed the cars coming from the rear to have a chance at the win. The checkered flag came down to to a 3-lap shootout after the final caution. At the line it was Wahl with the win, followed by Imre, Williamson, Holtan, and Curtis Steih in 5th place.
