Greenbush Race Park

Graff, Meagher, Delaine and Berg in Victory Lane at GRP

Questionable and cooler weather probably kept a few fans and drivers away from the Greenbush Race Park, but despite the weather it was still a great night of racing.

From my announcer’s booth, I thought the best race of the night was the Wissota Midwest Modified feature. Connor Graff sat on the outside of the front row and was the leader from the drop of the green flag. Over the last 10 laps, Graff had to deal with Aaron Blacklance and Blacklance had to deal with Brian Kakela. The trio ran nose to tail never getting more than a car length apart, going the entire 15 laps caution free. When the checkers flew it was Graff getting the win, his first since 2020, Blacklance was second and Kakela third. Alex Johnson picked up the lone heat win.

The Wissota Street feature was another great race. Outside polesitter James Meagher was out in front early. Even through three cautions Meagher was out in front. Over the last seven laps Meagher had to deal with the hard charging Jerome Berger. But it was Meagher holding off Berger to pick up his first ever Greenbush Race Park win. Berger finished second and John Halvorson third. Halvorson and Terry Blacklance picked up the heat wins.

The outside of the front row was good for feature wins and the Wissota Modified feature was no different. Rick Delaine held that spot, but it would be Mike Tiani with the early lead. Delaine made the pass for the lead coming out of corner two with 17 to go. A caution at the halfway point bunched up the field but Delaine held the top spot. Jordan Duray got beside Delaine but didn't have enough to make the pass, as Delaine went on to get the win with Duray finishing second and Aaron Blacklance third. Nick Jacobson and Josh Beaulieu picked up the heat wins.

The Wissota Pure Stock feature ran caution free as Steve Nordhagen lead the first seven laps until he pushed in corner four and Josh Berg was there to take advantage of his mistake. Berg went on to pick up his second win of the year and a sweep of the night. Dusty Caspers finished second and Nordhagen third.

Hayden Engen led the first half of the 4 Cylinder feature until Waylon Current made the pass down backstretch with seven to go. Current went on to get his second win of the year with Engen finishing second and Kalin Honer third. Engen and Shannon George picked up the heat wins.

Up next at the Park will be the Moonshine Mod tour. Joining the Mods will be the Streets, Midwest Mods, Pure Stocks, MinnKota Lightning Sprints and the 4 Cylinders. Pit gates open at 4:30, grandstands at 5:30, cutoff for the draw is at 6pm with racing getting under way at 7pm sharp.
