Greenbush Race Park

Rodin and Pederson take tour wins at GRP

Well it was another great night for racing as the Greenbush Race Park hosted the Rebel Midwest Mod tour along with the Dirt Race Central Street Stock tour.

The Rebel Midwest Mod tour was rained out two weeks ago and luckily officials were able to reschedule the event. Haley Lee and Lucas Rodin would lead the 21 car field to the green. Lee led the first lap before the first caution flew. On the restart Rodin got the jump on the leader and was out in front exiting corner two. Four more cautions flew with the last coming with five to go. Rodin was never challenged for the lead as he went on to get the win, but it was a great race for positions two through five with nothing being decided until the checkers flew. Jarrod Klein would finish second with Justin Jones third. Lee, Aaron Blacklance, and Alex Johnson picking up the heat wins.

The first two years the Race Park hosted the Street Stock tour, they ended in rain outs so as they say the third time is a charm as the Street tour was finally able to complete a feature. Tucker Pederson drew the number one spot for the feature and took full advantage of the starting position. The Streeters ran 25 laps caution free with Pederson in control. The second half of the race Pederson and second place runner Justin Vogel had to work their way through lapped traffic, but Vogel could not gain any ground on the leader. Pederson went on to pick up his first Street Stock tour win and second win of the year at the Park. Vogel finished second and won his heat and Jonny Carter was third. Josh Barker and Jaden Christ picked up the other heat wins.

A caution on lap two was the only thing that slowed the Wissota Modified feature as Aaron Holtan lead the last 19 laps to pick up his first win and sweep of the year. Josh Beaulieu finished second and Dustin Wahl was third. Mark Esala picked up the other heat win.

Dusty Caspers led all 15 laps of the Wissota Pure Stock feature as he picked up his second win of the year. Aaden Olson finished second and Steve Nordhagen third. Brandon Puschinsky got the lone heat win.

Up next at the Park will be just a regular night of racing featuring the Wissota Modifieds, Streets, Midwest Mods, and Pure Stocks along with the 4 Cylinders. Pit gates open at 4:30, the grandstands at 5:30. Cutoff for the draw is at 6pm with racing starting at 7pm sharp.
