Blacklance, Meyer, and Hess get Wissota Checkers at Greenbush Race Park

It was a perfect night for racing at the Greenbush Race Park, as the Park hosted the third stop on the MinnKota PowerI Lightning Sprint Summer Shootout.

The Wissota Street feature would send 12 cars out for their feature. The Streeters ran caution free as Trey Hess picked up his first win of the year. The real race was for the second spot as about seven cars were all in a position to claim the spot. Cadin Brekkestran held the second spot for a majority of the race but in the closing laps Weston Ramsrud and Jeremy Gust got by him as they finished second and third respectively. Gust and Ramsrud also won their heats.

The Wissota Pure Stocks only had six cars signed in and Macey Anderson sat on the pole and lead the first lap, but coming out of corner four the next time around, she brought out only caution of the race. This would hand the lead over to Dave Meyer. Josh Berg would spend the next 13 laps trying to run Meyer down and keep his winning streak alive, but he never got close and Meyer went on to get his third win of the year, Berg finished second and won the lone heat while Billy Binkley finished third.

The Wissota Midwest Mods once again had a problem with cautions. Patrick Sobolik was the early leader until after a restart, Aaron Blacklance got by him coming out of corner four. Blacklance would hold onto the lead through two more cautions to pick up his seventh win on the year. Justin Olson finished second and Chris Edmonds third. Edmonds and Alex Johnson picked up the heat wins.

The Greenbush Race Park was the third stop for the four night tour for the MinnKota PowerI Lightning Sprints. The Tour drew drivers from six states and two Canadian provinces. Twenty eight cars were on hand for their chance at the $2,500 first place prize. California driver Grant Sexton sat on the pole for the 30 lap feature and was out in front early. Sexton lead the first half of the race until he spun in corner three. This would hand the lead over to Alan Truscinski. The elder Truscinki lead the last 13 laps to pick up the win on his birthday. Colorado driver Josiah King finished second and Dexter Dvergsten third. Hayden Koemstedt won the B Main while Josh Flood, Kate Taves, Alex Truscinski, and Alan Truscinski picked up the heat wins.

Up next at the Race Park will be just a regular night of racing featuring the Modifieds, Streets, Midwest Modifieds and Pure Stocks. Pit Gates open at 4:30, grandstands at 5:30. Cutoff for the draw is at 6pm with racing getting under way at 7pm sharp.
