Greenbush Race Park closes out the 2021 race season

The Greenbush Race Park wrapped up its 2021 race season on Sunday September 5 as 123 cars over eight classes all vied for the checkered flag.

The Wissota Modified feature was won by Jamie Trautner of Hendrum, MN as he led all 20 laps and picked up the sweep. Devin Fouquette of St. Cloud, MN, was second and Jordan Duray of Halma, MN, third. Fouquette picked up the other heat win. Congratulations to the top three in points, Duray, Shane Wahl and Dustin Wahl.

Kyle Dykhoff of Starbuck, MN, was able to make repairs to his Wissota Street after rolling the night before to lead the Street feature, but he couldn't hold off a hard charging Tucker Pederson of East Grand Forks, MN. Pederson made the pass for the lead coming out of corner four with seven to go. Dykhoff would finish second and win his heat while Aaron Blacklance of Thief River Falls, MN, finished third. John Halvorson of Warren, MN, picked up the other heat win. Congratulations to the top three in points, Blacklance, Pederson and Dave Meyer.

The Wissota Midwest Modified feature was shortened considerably as they had five cautions before they even got a lap in. Jake Smith of St. Joseph, MN, would get the win with Haley Lee of Starbuck, MN, in second and Logan Salazar of Neche, ND third. Gary James Nelson of Ponemah, MN, would pick up the B Main win with heat wins to Brennan Schmidt of Bemidji, MN, Patrick Sobolik of Hallock, MN, Salazar, and Blacklance. Congratulations to the top three in points, Blacklance, Shane Wahl, and Justin Olson.

Kevin Baumgarner of Deer River, MN, would lead wire to wire for the Wissota Pure Stock feature win. Josh Berg of Bemidji, MN, finished second and John Farrington of Akeley, MN, third. Heat wins went to Dusty Caspers of Bagley, MN, and Steve Nordhagen of Thief River Falls, MN Congratulations to the top three in points Caspers, Deryk Weleski, and Nordhagen.

MinnKota Lightning Sprint driver Dexter Dvergsten redeemed himself Sunday after hitting a tractor tire and flipping the night before by winning the feature. Dvergsten passed Alan Truscinski of Greenbush, MN, coming out of corner two with five to go. Alex Truscinski of Greenbush would finish second and Alan third. Heat wins to Dvergsten and Kelsi Pederson of East Grand Forks, MN Congratulations to the top three in points, Dvergsten, Alan Truscinski, and Alex Truscinski.

Shannon George of Bagley led every lap of the 4 Cylinder feature for his second win of the year and a sweep of the evening. John Current of Bemidji finished second and won his heat, and Cory Nelson of Leonard, MN, third. Congratulations to the top three in points Current, Kalin Honer and Brandon Hunter.

The Northern Renegade Non Wing Sprint car feature came right down to the wire as Chris Lewis of Grand Rapids, MN, made a last corner pass on Jesse Grife of Grand Rapids coming out of corner four for the win and the sweep. Zach Olson of Grand Rapids finished third.

The Outlaw Mini Mod feature came right down to the wire too. Ben Kraus of Kanawha, IA, and Nathan Kilwine of Glennville, MN, raced side by side over the last half of the race. Kraus would edge Kilwine for the win and sweep of the night. Levi Randt of Siren, WI, finished third. Kilwine picked up the other heat win.
