Greenbush Race Park wraps up 2020 race season

The Greenbush Race Park wrapped up it's 2020 race season with its annual Labor Day double header. Over 100 cars were signed in for the two-day event, that saw great racing in all classes. A light rain Saturday night forced the postponing of the last four features to Sunday.

A brief recap of Saturday's racing action.

The Wissota Modified feature saw Mike Greseth of Harwood, ND pass Dustin Wahl of Greenbush, MN, down the backstretch for the lead on lap six, and go on and get the win. Aaron Blacklance of Thief River Falls, MN, would finish second and Wahl third. Heat wins went to Wahl and Jamie Trautner of Hendrum, MN.

Saturday night was a special for the Wissota Midwest Modifieds, and their 25 lap feature saw four different leaders. It would be Aaron Blacklance of Thief River Falls, MN, taking the lead with six to go and capturing the checkered flag. Cody Lee of Starbuck, MN, finishing second and Reise Stenberg of Argusville, ND third. Justin Olson of Thief River Falls, MN, won the B Main and heat wins went to Logan Salazar of Neche, ND, Lance Schill of Langdon, ND, Blacklance and Kyle Dykhoff of Starbuck, MN.

The Wissota Street feature would see Kyle Dykhoff take the lead on a restart on lap two to go on and get the win and a sweep of the night. Dave Meyer of Thief River Falls, MN, would finish second and Jeremy Gust of Strathcona, MN would finish third and pick up the other heat win.

The Wissota Pure Stocks had 16 cars on hand and saw three different leaders in their feature before Ryan Hagen of Thief River Falls, MN, would take the lead on lap eight and go on and get his first win of the year, Devyn Weleski of Bemidji, MN, would finish second and Steve Nordhagen of Thief River Falls, MN, third. Heat wins went to Nordhagen, Weleski, and Dusty Caspers of Bagley, MN.

The Northern Renegade Non-Wing Sprint cars made their only appearance of the year and it would be Paul Schultz of Grand Rapids, MN, picking up the feature win with Caley Emerson of Grand Rapids, MN, second and Troy Gessner of St. Cloud, MN, third. Emerson and Jori Hughes of Redondo Beach, CA, got the heat wins.

The Lightning Sprints would see Alex Truscinski of Greenbush, MN, get his third win of the year followed by his father Alan Truscinski of Greenbush, MN, and Dexter Dvergsten also from Greenbush, MN. Kelsi Pederson of East Grand Forks, MN, and Cody Swenson of Middle River, MN, picked up the heat wins.

Kalin Honer of Laporte, MN, held off John Current of Bemidji, MN, for the 4 Cylinder feature win. Shannon George of Bagley, MN, would finish third. Waylon Current of Wilton, MN, and John Current picked up the heat wins.

Sunday's recap saw Jamie Trautner lead all 20 laps in the Wissota Modified feature for the sweep of the evening. Jordan Duray of Halma, MN, would finish second and Dustin Wahl third. The other heat win went to Aaron Holtan of Newfolden, MN.

Aaron Blacklance picked up his second Wissota Midwest Modified feature win of the day. Cody Lee was second and Justin Jones of Bemidji, MN, third. Blacklance, Jones, Lee, and Justin Olson picked up the heat wins.

Kyle Dykhoff would also pick up his second Street feature win of the day besting Tucker Pederson of East Grand Forks, MN, and Jeremy Gust. Ryan Johnson of Karlstad, MN, and Dykhoff got the heat wins.

The Wissota Pure Stock feature saw Dusty Caspers take the lead with only three to go to get the win, Devyn Weleski would once again finish second and Kade Leeper of Guthrie, MN, third. Heat wins went to Weleski, Austin Brekkestran of Thief River Falls, MN, and Deryk Weleski of Bemidji, MN.

Jori Hughes would pick up the Non-Wing Sprint car win with Lance Solem of Duluth, MN, finishing second and Josh Braford of Grand Rapids, MN, third. Heat wins went to Hughes and Chris Lewis of Grand Rapids, MN.

The Lightning Sprint feature would see Dexter Dvergsten taking the lead away from Cody Swenson with nine laps to go to get his second win of the year, Swenson would finish second and Kelsi Pederson third. Pederson and Alex Truscinski would get the heat wins.

The 4 Cylinder feature would see John Current back in victory lane for the fourth time this year. Shannon George would finish second and Kalin Honer third. Heat wins went to Current and Honer.
